General Guidelines for Team Formation of Smart India Hackathon (SIH)
2025:
Each team would mandatorily comprise of 6 members including the team leader and at
least one female member.
All female member teams can also be formed.
All team members should be from the same college; no inter-college teams will be allowed.
For college/ institute, members from different branches will be encouraged to form a team.
Each team has a name which should be unique and must not contain the name of your
institute in any form.
Each team may have at least one or maximum two mentors.
General Guidelines for Idea Submission of Smart India Hackathon (SIH)
2025:
For College, the teams can work either on Problem Statements (listed on SIH website under
the Problem statement page) or Student Innovation (listed themes);

In student Innovation, the teams can create and solve solutions to various challenges of
their own, but it should be listed in one of the themes listed on our website.
For Colleges, Each Problem Statement (PS) to have a maximum count of 500 ideas
submitted from teams of various institutes. Once the counter got all 500 ideas, the
particular PS will get freeze and no idea submission will be allowed for the respective PS.
Counter with the ideas submitted numbers and ideas left numbers will be displayed in the
public domain just opposite to the Problem Statement PS and can be viewed by anyone on

Interested teams may submit their ideas in the following format:
Team name
Names of team leader and the rest 5 team members
Gender of team leader and the rest 5 team members
Email id of all the team members along with the team leader
Mobile no. of all the team members along with the team leader
Names, Gender, Email id, Mobile no. of Mentors
Chosen problem statement or Student Innovation Category (PS Number)
