ABOUT
National Youth Innovation Challenge 2024
In an era driven by innovation, fostering creative thinking and problem
solving skills among the youth is paramount. National Youth Innovator’s
Challenge (NYIC-2024) takes a remarkable stride forward by inviting school
students to join its ranks and contribute their ingenious ideas to the national
growth trajectory.
The NYIC-2024 is a prestigious event that unites bright minds from various
educational institutions to brainstorm solutions for real-world challenges. It
provides a platform for students to collaborate, innovate, and showcase their
technical prowess. (NYIC-2024) stands out by broadening its scope to include
school students, recognizing that innovation knows no age limits.
This decision opens doors to young minds, allowing them to engage with
complex problems and envision groundbreaking solutions.
It enables school students to contribute their ideas against 10 pre-defined
themes, focusing on ecological sustainability. This inclusion nurtures a culture
of innovation from a tender age. Participants can immerse themselves in
themes that align with their interests and aspirations. From envisioning
futuristic smart cities to devising eco friendly solutions, these themes
encompass a wide spectrum of challenges, inviting diverse perspectives.
Goals:-
Innovation and Creativity: Encourage the development of novel,
sustainable technologies and practices that reduce environmental impact.
Collaboration and Community: Build a diverse community of innovators,
businesses, and organizations working together towards common
environmental goals.
Education and Awareness: Increase awareness and knowledge about
environmental issues and sustainable practices among participants and
the broader community.
Scalability and Impact: Support projects that have the potential to be
scaled and replicated, creating significant and measurable positive
environmental impacts.
Benefits for students:-
We want to inculcate 21st centaury skills creativity, fluency, accuracy,
productivity etc. The selected ideas/ innovation will be used as the startup
with the team and supported by SACC (Startup Accelerator Chamber of
Commerce). The victorious concept will be sponsored by the SACC also
provide training, support, loan for implication of these innovative ideas to
convert them into start ups.
Process Flow
1. Every successful team requires a guiding force. Here, the Single Point of
Contact (SPOC) within schools steps in. They play a crucial role in identifying
and nominating student teams for specific themes, ensuring a smooth and
efficient participation process.
2. The School SPOCs will register themselves and their teams on the National
Youth Innovator’s Challenge 2024 website.
3. The nomination process is divided into 2 stages.
4. At 1st stage: Teams will register and submit their innovative ideas in a PDF or
PPT format on the National Youth Innovator’s Challenge 2024 website ()
5. At 2nd stage (Grand Finale): After evaluation, the shortlisted teams will be
provided a platform to showcase their ideas to the domain experts and final
judgement will be given.
6. The decision of the judges will be final.
7. The Grand Finale will be conducted at a venue to be announced.
8. The Grand Finale is tentatively scheduled for August.
Registration
1. Schools can register their teams on the website until [specific date], 2024.
Interested schools can enter their teams using the online portal for the
National Youth Innovator’s Challenge 2024, open to students from 8th to
12th grade.
2. The SPOC, typically the Principal, Vice Principal, or Registrar, will handle the
registration process for their school.
3. Each registered team must consist of 3 members and 1 mentor, including the
team leader. Mentors are mandatory to help and guide the team.
4. Registration fee for the first stage will be Rs. 300 per team.
Team Formation
1. A team must consist of 3 students and 1 mandatory mentor.
2. All students must be from the same school; inter-school teams are not
permitted.
3. The team name should be distinctive and may include the institution's name
in any manner.
4. Students from grades 8th to can form a team together.
Working on Problem Statement
1. Environmental innovation: Teams can work on any problem statements
within the available themes on the National Youth Innovator’s Challenge
2024 website, and develop their own models based on these themes.
2. At stage 1, the teams will present their concepts in PDF or PPT formats.
3. At stage 2, the shortlisted teams participating in the grand finale will
showcase their ideas accompanied by a prototype. (either hardware or
software)
4. The SPOC must register the selected teams on [specific platform] along with:
o Team Name, Names of participants, Email IDs, Id proofs of participants and
mentor.
o Chosen Problem Statement with a proposed solution, including title,
description, and presentation in PDF/PPT format within the provided limit
(12 slides/pages).
o This registration process is open until [specific date].
Announcement of Shortlisted Ideas
1. The top-selected teams will proceed to the Grand Finale of the National
Youth Innovator’s Challenge 2024.
2. Notification regarding shortlisted teams will be posted on our portal and
emailed to their respective email IDs.
Responsibilities of Mentor
1. Mentor guide teams through phone, video chat, or in-person meetings to
help develop students' ideas into working prototypes before the Grand
Finale.
2. To provide guidance and support to their assigned teams during the National
Youth Innovator’s Challenge 2024.
3. To collaborate with the student team during the Grand Finale to build a
working prototype.
4. Out-of-station travel to the challenge venue is necessary for selected teams
for the Grand Finale. Teams are responsible for their travel expenses.
General Information Regarding the Grand Finale
1. If selected for the final challenge, you have to sent your confirmation to
attend finale at Auditorium, Dyal Singh College.
2. Each school will issue a stamped photo ID to every member of the teams
selected for the finale. A school photo ID is mandatory for participating in the
Grand Finale.
Prize distribution ceremony for grand finale:
1. Top 3 performing ideas from each theme category will be awarded with a
Certificate and medals.
2. Top 1 team from each category will be awarded with a trophy, certificate and
medals.
3. At last a direct Q/A session for the top team will be with the judges to
present their ideas in form of a startups and 1 team will be awarded with
Nations Best Youth Innovation award 2024.
4. Top ideas will be promoted to the SACC (Startup Accelerator Chamber
Of Commerce). They will help the students promoting ideas into future
startup ventures by giving trainings and funding to the students teams .
