Installation Technical Data

Shims are permanently fitted to the underside of the grille frame in
the area of the pedestal to provide the required depth between Table 1: Supply air
pedestal face and upper surface of flooring. These shims are
factory fitted, see detail ‘A’ for range of dimension ‘X’. V· (l/s)

V· in l/s : Volume flow rate

LpNR : NR rating assuming a room correction of 8dB

LpNR = LWNR - 8dB Selection Guide
When the AFG floor grille is used in an area with high heat loads,
LWNR : NR rating of sound power level e.g. computer rooms, the grille should be located close to the
heat source but away from any wall or partition.
 ps in Pa : Static pressure drop
The recommended air volume per grille for a ceiling height of 3m
veff in m/s : Effective discharge velocity is between 140 and 220 l/s. For higher ceilings the flow can be
increased up to typically 300 l/s.

The pressure drop across the type AFG floor grille should also be
considered in the selection process for a pressurised floor void
system.

Further detailed selection can be obtained on request.
