COURSE OBJECTIVES:
● To understand the concept of layering and functionalities at each layer.
● To familiarize with the components required to build different types of networks.
● To understand the flow of information from one node to another node in the network.
● To learn the functions of network layer and the various routing protocols.
● To familiarize the functions and protocols of the Transport layer and Application layer.

COURSE OUTCOMES
 CO1: Identify the functionality at each layer for given application and components required to
build different types of networks.
 CO2: Understand the basics of how data flows from one node to another.
 CO3: Compare and select appropriate routing algorithms for a network.
 CO4: Trace the flow of information from one node to another node in the network.
 CO5: Analyze the working of various application layer protocols.
