________________________________________
Kaien Cross was the man that you liked to call your father, but perhaps
that was due to the fact that you had no one else to call "father." Kaien told you
that your parents were a special type of human that were bred down generation after
generation to have the perfect, most delicious blood to ever exsist. Your family's
blood catered to the pure blood vampires for centuries until Kaien stumbled upon
you. You had always wished that you'd gotten the chance to meet your biological
parents deep inside. Unfortunately, fate had never given you the pleasure.
Despite this, you were happy to have Kaien as your father and going to
Cross Academy was... decent. You had earned yourself a spot on the Disciplinary
Committee purely due to the fact that you were a child of Kaien. You thought of
yourself as the most productive member of the crew since Zero was always slacking
and Yuki couldn't fend off a juice box if it came at her. However, being the most
productive member had its flaws and one of those flaws were that you had to do a
large majority of the work which got exhausting.
🎀
"Ooooh, you're such a doll, (y/n)!" father yelped, dancing back and forth
around his office.
This wasn't the first time that father had called you "doll," nor would it
be the last. He'd called you by that ridiculous name so much that even the night
class students were referring to you by "doll" or "doll face." In the beginning,
you hadn't minded the nickname, but it'd gotten to the point that people begun
calling you doll more than your actual name. You'd wondered if the night class
students even knew your real name anymore since they called you "doll" so often.
You forced a smile though it turned out to appear more like a crazed death
glare than anything else. Yuki glanced over at you with her large, brown eyes and
awkwardly laughed at the look on your face which was probably her way of trying to
soothe you. Of course, it didn't work too well.
"Head master, I don't really think (y/n) likes that nickname," Yuki
informed him. Unsurprisingly, father was too busy doing a wild array of dance moves
to listen to Yuki's informative statement. You took in a deep breath and slowly let
it out so you wouldn't get angry at him then quickly turned around with rage
bubbling inside you.
"Come on, Yuki, Zero. We have a job to do or at least I do," you spit at
them like venom, unintentionally. You didn't mean it as an insult, but you really
wanted them to work harder since they weren't the most helpful... at all.
Zero narrowed his eyes on you as you all exited the room, "Hey! Yuki and I
do just as much work as you do."
"Whatever," you huffed, not wishing to argue about it. It wasn't like
anything you said would get through their heads anyway. With quick steps, you found
yourself far ahead of the pair and decided to begin your patrol on the opposite
side of the school.
You swiftly moved through the damp, emerald green grass until you were on
the other side of the school. Once you'd found your way there, you gently leaned up
against the school building and pulled out your twin daggers. The pair of gleaming
daggers that served as your primary weapons were like poison to vampires. One stab
could have a vampire toppling over in pain. You were the only one that father could
possibly trust with such a powerful weapon since Zero was thirsty for vampire blood
and Yuki was simply incapable of using them even if it meant life or death for her.
The sudden sound of footsteps caught your attention and, in reaction, you
flicked your head in the direction of the sound with a slight glare. It was none
other than the most troublesome vampire of the bunch, Hanabusa Aido. He wasn't your
favorite night class student, but you tolerated him as best you could. He casually
flipped his blonde hair and shot you a charming smile which only caused you to
deepen your menacing glare.
"Skipping class, Aido?" you questioned him with one eyebrow raised.
He shrugged his shoulders in a mischievous way, "Sorry, I just couldn't
help it. I wanted to see you sooo bad!" Within a quarter of a second, Hanabusa was
right in front of you and there couldn't have been more than a few inches of space
between the two of you.
You lightly pushed the flirty vampire away from you and spoke fiercely to
him, "Not so close!" Your push didn't seem to clear much space between the two of
you so you proceeded to take a few steps back. You didn't want to threaten him with
your daggers yet since you only used those in emergency cases, but you were getting
fed up with his childish games.
"Why can't you just be happy I came to see you?" he asked with an over
exaggerated frown, "Any other day class girl would kill to be you."
"Yeah, well, I'm not 'any other day class girl,' am I?" you shot back at
him with your usual dose of sass.
"Hm, I guess not," Hanabusa replied with a smirk. Without warning, Hanabusa
wrapped an arm around you and pulled you close to him. His light pink tongue
slithered out of his mouth and traced over the of your neck. The sensation of his
tongue on your neck caused a shiver to go down your spine and you attempted to get
away from him though it was to no avail.
"You're more delicious than any other day class girl I've ever known.
That's what separates you from the rest," he whispered to you softly. Hanabusa was
so close to you that the chilling breath that exited his mouth tickled the tip of
your earlobe and you didn't like the feeling one bit. You pressed the tip of your
dagger to his stomach enough to get the threat across to him. Wisely, he let go of
you and backed away, putting his hands in the air as a way of surrendering.
"Fine, fine," he gave in, "Be that way."
You put a hand on your hip, "Get back to class, Aido. I don't have time for
your nonsense games." Just as you said this, a light breeze flew by and hit your
bare legs, causing goosebumps to form. You cursed the shortness of the skirt you
were wearing and silently wished that father would change the female uniform to
provide a longer skirt or, even better, pants.
"Well, if you ever need a sexy vampire to suck some of your perfectly
delicious blood then you know where to find me, doll," Aido winked, fading off into
the night. That god damned nickname had you practically tearing out your hair.
"Dammit, Aido! I swear if you keep calling me doll, I'll file down your
fangs while your sleeping so you can never drink blood ever again! Don't think I
won't!" you shouted out to him though he was long gone. To be frank, you were
shouting at thin air and Hanabusa didn't hear a word you uttered so it really did
you no good.
Having thoroughly been pissed off, you spun around and headed off to
another side of the building. Maybe you'd find some meddling day class girls trying
to sneak a peek at the "hunky" night class boys, as you did on occasion. You had
always thought it was entertaining to scold them and then escort them back to their
dorms with a nasty scowl on your face. It really made your night whenever you could
be a bitch to the irritating day class girls. All their fawning over the night
class students was sickening and what was even worse was that Yuki had gotten hung
up in it as well. She would practically fall to pieces around Kaname though you
could never understand why. You understood her history with him but jeez. The way
she acted around him was over board.
Dismissing your thoughts, you continued to make your normal rounds and
didn't find another soul outside. You weren't even sure where Yuki and Zero were,
but you also didn't care much since it wasn't out of the norm for you to do all of
the patrolling and disciplining.
"That's it," you announced to yourself, "Time for some me time." You needed
to let off some steam so the best way to do that was to... read! You pulled out a
sci-fi book you'd been reading and opened it up to the page you'd left off on. You
smiled to yourself before dropping on the ground, sitting with your legs criss-
cross-applesauce. This was a very unladylike position for you to be sitting in
since you were wearing a skirt but no one was around so it didn't matter. You
snatched your rounded, brown rimmed, granny glasses out of your bag and placed them
on the bridge of your nose. That embarrassing pair of glasses was your reading
glasses and you reserved them for when you were all alone. You couldn't bare the
thought of anyone else seeing you in your granny glasses though you were sure
someone would catch a glimpse of them someday. It was inevitable.
Your eyes raced across each page until you were eventually hooked on your
sci-fi novel. You couldn't bring yourself to look away from the beautiful work of
art which was that book. On the down side, you were so distracting by the book that
you hadn't even noticed the brunette vampire looming over you. It wasn't until a
few minutes after his appearance that you noticed the roundish shadow of his face
covering up the words on your book.
"Shit!" you yelped, slamming your book shut and swiping away your glasses.
You peeked up at Kaname with an awkward smile, hoping he hadn't noticed your granny
glasses.
He chuckled at you, "You look cute with your glasses. Why'd you take them
off?"
Your eyes widened at the mention of your glasses, "Y-you saw my granny
glasses?" Due to how embarrassed you were, you'd totally ignored the fact that he'd
said you were cute with your glasses on and focused on the more pressing topic, he
knew about the existence of your ultra secret granny glasses.
"Is that what you call them?" he asked for clarification, "Your granny
glasses?" With puckered lips and your arms crossed over your chest, you quickly
averted your gaze away from Kaname. He leaned down toward you which caused you to
change your pouting face and turn toward him in surprise. Despite what you thought
he was going to do, he simply leaned over grab your granny glasses off of the
ground where you'd thrown them. He then fixed them and began to place them back on
your face when a noise stopped him in the act.
"Kaname!" the voice called out, "What do you think you're doing to doll?"
The voice undeniably belonged to Zero. You'd recognize his voice from anywhere.
After all, you'd known him since you were a child. Being the first brought into the
home by Kaien, you took care of both Zero and Yuki whenever they first came in
despite being the youngest of the three. You had not-so-fond memories of wiping
blood off of both of them and you even remembered how Zero wouldn't speak when you
first met him. You almost missed those days. He started talking a lot more as he
got older, a little too much. Furthermore, he used that nickname which made
everything he just said ten times more annoying.
Kaname straightened his back when he saw Zero, "Hello, Zero." His tone was
calm and placid despite the idiotic fact that Zero was pointing his gun at him.
This was precisely why Zero wasn't allowed to have the daggers as his weapons.
"Calm down, Zero," you said, removing your glasses and setting them to the
side. Hopefully, with all the commotion, he hadn't gotten the opportunity to notice
them. You didn't know if you could handle further embarrassment. Kaname had already
saw you wearing them which was horrible enough. The last thing you wanted was for
Zero to see them and tell all the day class students.
Zero completely ignored your words, "Shouldn't you be in class, Kaname?"
His eyes sharpened on the vampire though Kaname didn't seem to be effected by the
angry look he had.
"I came outside to check on-"
"Listen, I don't really care, Kaname. You're obviously pulling something
here. Isn't Yuki enough for you? Just leave doll alone. She's not yours to toy
with," he snapped off him. It would've been kind of cute if he hadn't used that
fucking nickname!
"Kaname!" a woman's voice called out to him from the direction of the
school building, "We need you in here! Everyone's gone into a frenzy. There's this
smell of blood..."
"I wonder whose blood it could be-" you begun, but everyone's head suddenly
snapped toward you. You lifted up your thigh, realizing that you'd accidentally
crushed your granny glasses and the glass had pierced your skin in several places.
Blood dribbled onto the grass below you as you looked up once again. Everyone was
staring at you in a blood lustful way, even Zero.

"Shit," you muttered to yourself as you picked glass out of the wound. Out of lack
of anything else to do, you tightly pressed your hand against the blood in an
attempt to cover it up. Of course, that wasn't the brightest thing to do and it
just spread it around. The blood then ended up being on both your hand and thigh.
Kaname bent down and gently grabbed your hand, observing the blood that'd
gotten on it. He drew his face nearer and nearer to the blood on your hand, but you
had no intentions of letting him get a taste of it so you yanked your hand away and
kicked him directly in the stomach, all in one quick motion. The fact that he just
tried something like that made you furious so without thinking, you raised your
bloodied hand to slap him across the face. When the slap landed, it splattered the
scarlet liquid across his right cheek and you heard a gasp of shock in the
background. Kaname's head moved in the direction of the slap so that he was no
longer looking at you.
"Kaname!" the woman who you recognized as Ruka called out. She rushed over
to the dark haired vampire as if you had severely injured him with your slap and
kick. Ruka bent over next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder while intensely
glaring at you though you only returned her glare with an even harsher one.
"How dare you do that to him!" she exclaimed.
"How dare I do that to him? I wasn't just going to stand by and watch him
drink my blood!" you snapped back at the angry vampire.
Kaname looked back at Ruka with his set of chocolate eyes, "Ruka, it's
fine. I was the one that was out of line." You shot Kaname a surprised glance when
you realized that he was agreeing with you rather than being offended by your
harshness. The vampire proceeded to stand up and dust off his pure white uniform
before turning around and walking off in the direction of the school. He didn't say
anything more to you though you weren't sure you minded that.
Zero cautiously stepped toward you after Kaname found his way back into the
school building and held his hand out to help you up off the ground. You weren't
sure why he'd been acting so weird since your blood was drawn. If you hadn't known
any better, you'd have thought that Zero was a vampire. However, that was a foolish
thought since Zero was very human and had a profound hatred for vampires,
especially pure bloods for whatever reason.
You reached out and clasped his hand with your none bloody one. Zero gave
you a tug which brought you up on your feet. It wasn't until then that you saw the
blood had begun trailing down your leg. You muttered a bunch of inaudible curse
words then let out a heavy sigh at the sight of it.
"You should get out of here. It's dangerous for you to be here while your
bleeding like that. Yuki and I can handle it on our own for tonight," he told you.
"You and Yuki couldn't handle a spider if it came your way! I'll just find
something to wrap up the wound with and-" you begun that sentence, but were quickly
cut off by by Zero who roughly took a hold of your wrist. He stared down at your
hand, his gray hair draped over his face to cover his expression. You weren't sure
of how to react to this at first so you simply attempted to pull your hand away.
However, Zero wasn't loosing his grip in the slightest and you almost felt as if
your wrist was going to bruise from how tightly he was squeezing it.
"Stop! What are you doing, Zero?" you asked him with an angry tone to your
voice. He didn't answer for a short time, but, eventually, his harsh grip on your
wrist loosened up and his sharp pair of lavender eyes shot up at you.
"I said, get out of here," Zero told you with a deep, angered tone. Ripping
you hand away from him, you placed it back at your side and spun around without
another word to him. Asshole, you muttered inside your head as you stormed off.
Blood continued to trickle down your leg, but Zero, who never seized to make you
mad, had really pissed you off this time so you had barely noticed the blood
through your rage. You wrapped your fingers around your sore wrist and gently
massaged it while turning the corner of the school.
Suddenly, you felt the presence of another person. You had gotten the type
of eerie chill that came with being watched and, due to the fact that it was dark
and you were all alone, it made you instantly paranoid. You began looking all
around you though you found that there was no one around you at ground level.
Fearfully, you took a few steps back and stared up at the top of the school
building. There, perched on top of the school building like an ominous bird, was a
masking being. You weren't sure what to do so you stood there, trying to piece in
as many details of the person as you could. However, your observations were short
lived since the person immediately stood up from their spot and ran across the roof
of the school before disappearing into the night.
No way, my eyes must have been deceiving me, you thought to yourself. You
tried to convince yourself that what you'd seen wasn't real, but, deep down, you
knew what you saw wasn't imaginary.

3. ❆ Tis' the Season ❆
мerιѕ angel
Sunlight peeked through the crack between your velvet curtains and hit your
face. Worn out after patrolling last night, you had no motivation to crawl out of
bed and proceeded to yank your warm, fluffy blanket over your head. You began to
drift back into a deep sleep, but a sudden noise made you snap awake again.
"Wake up," ordered a familiar voice. In response, you groaned and turned in
the opposite direction. The voice groaned back and footsteps echoed inside your
room. You were relieved that the familiar voice, which couldn't place in your half
asleep state, had finally left.
However, the relief was short lived since the footsteps soon returned.
Splash. Icy cold water soaked you and the blankets you were covered in. Throwing
your blankets off of you, you looked to see what intruder had disturbed your sleep
and thrown freezing water on you. A muscular, shirtless Zero stood before you with
a frown etched into his face and arms crossed over his chest. You two shared glares
and you made a mental promise to get him back for what he did.
"Zero," (y/n) yelled through gritted teeth while clenching her hands
into fists.
"Maybe next time you should wake up when I tell you to," the gray haired
boy shot back at her.
(y/n) glanced in every direction around her in an attempt to find
something to chuck at him. The only feasible object seemed to be that empty glass
sitting on the table beside her bed. She snatched up the item, threw her arm back
and then sent it flying in his direction. The composed individual smoothly dodged
the object and allowed it shatter against the wall behind him. Then, with a cocky
chuckle, he exited the room.
"Damn you, Zero," you grumbled under her breath.

"Glad to see you came, "Yuki joked with a smile, "Zero said you
wouldn't wake up this morning."
"Did he now?" you questioned angrily.
Seeing the sudden flash of anger in your eyes, Yuki wisely decided to
change the topic. "So what are your ideas for Christmas this year?"
"I was thinking we should throw some sort of Christmas party for the
whole school to attend. This school needs something to bring it to life. It's
really boring here, if you ask me," (y/n) explained as the two continued walking to
class.
Yuki clasped her hands together and grinned with excitement gleaming
in her amber eyes. "Yes! I can see it now. We can have a dance, cute Christmas
cookies and even a Secret Santa event!"
"Exactly," you began, "We'll have to set up the Secret Santa drawing
soon so-"
"I'll do it," the peppy girl interrupted. You silently wondered why
she was so enthusiastic about the whole idea of a Christmas party when you heard
her, but decided not to ask about it. The two of you arrived to class together in a
timely manner before proceeding to take your assigned seats. The bell rang almost
immediately after they had gotten settled in and the teacher began scribbling on
the chalk board.

Once the school day was over, you immediately collected your
things and headed for the door. You didn't even bother to wait up on Yuki or Zero
as you rushed out of the room and out of the school doors. The freezing cold breeze
swallowed you up once you exited the building and it became apparent to you that it
had snowed during the day by the ankle high snow you stepped in.
"She smells good, doesn't she?" you heard a voice say from afar.
Upon hearing those words, you suspected it was one of the night class students and
instantly whipped your head around to see the source of the voice. To your
surprise, it wasn't a night class student. In fact, you'd never seen that person
prior to that moment. It was a man of medium height dressed in all black clothing
who sent a shudder down your spine. The only visible part of his face was the
twisted smirk he wore so proudly.
You paused in your tracks to get a good look at him and you were
sure that you had an amusing, frightened look on your face by the chuckle he let
out upon seeing your expression. You were about to ask him who he was and what
exactly he thought he was doing, but a hand suddenly clasped your shoulder tightly.
Taken by surprise, you flipped around and shook the hand off of your shoulder with
a small, barely audible yelp.
"Calm down! What's got you so on edge?" Zero asked you with slight
concern in his tone. The concern he had in his voice was foreign to you and made
you question if you were really speaking to Zero Kiryu. Ignoring his question
momentarily, you averted your gaze to the area where the weird man once stood, but
he was no longer there. It was almost like he'd vanished out of thin air.
You shook your head in response to his question, "It's nothing."

4. ☃ Christmas Fiesta ☃
мerιѕ angel
You let out a sigh and glanced over at Yuki who had just finished cooking
the Christmas fruit cake for the party. You had yet to get ready for the party and
had no idea what you wanted to wear. It was a rare occasion in which you weren't
strictly demanded to wear your school uniform and you intended to take advantage of
that opportunity.
"I have this dress I think you should wear tonight, (y/n). You'd look good
in it," Yuki said with a smile.
"Me? Wear a dress? That sounds ridiculous. Plus it's winter and I don't
wanna freeze to death so I'd rather wear pants," you told her.
"Please?" Yuki begged, "Just take a look at it. I promise you'll like it."
You took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled at the thought of putting on a
dress. For some reason, you felt particularly jolly at the moment. Perhaps it
because it was Christmas. Due to this sudden jolly feeling, you decided to give
this Christmas dress that Yuki was so ecstatic about a chance.
"Fine," you gave in, "But if I don't like it, I'm not wearing it."
"You don't have to worry about that," Yuki assured, leading you toward her
room. You both entered the room and Yuki was quick to head to her closet. The
brunette pulled out a red and green long sleeved, knee length dress which you were
pleasantly surprised to see. You'd figured that the dress would look much worse
than the one that she showed you.
"I suppose I can wear it," you told her. She shot you a wide grin upon your
agreement and handed you the clothing.

Once the two of you, including the food that you were both bringing, were
ready to go, you begun heading out the door. However, a last thought crossed you
mind and caused you to pause just as you were about to close the door behind you.
"Zero is still locked up in his room isn't he?" you asked Yuki.
"Yeah. I think so." she answered.
"I feel like I should go get him. He needs to be more sociable." Having
said that, you headed back into the house with the food you'd made in hand and
found your way to his room. The door was closed so you decided to knock on it.
However, there was no answer.
You knocked on the door again, but not a single sound originated from
behind the door. "Zero?" you called out. Still, there was only silence. You tried
the door knob, but the room seemed to be locked.
Finally, after jiggling around the door knob for a little while, you heard
some noise from inside his room. You were glad to find out he wasn't lying dead in
there. Zero opened the door slightly and peeked his head out with an angered look
plastered on his face.
"I want you to come to the Christmas party," you told him sternly.
"No," he answered back with an equal amount of strictness in his voice.
Following his decline of your offer, he rudely slammed his door shut in your face.
"Fine! Fuck you!" you screamed and him, kicking the lower part of his door
before storming off down the hallway. You didn't understand why he had to be so
unnecessarily rude no matter how hard you attempted to be nice to him. Returning to
the door, Yuki gave you a curious look.
"Where is-"
"He isn't coming," you told her before storming off toward the academy.

Both day class and night class students had been invited to attend the
party so you and Yuki were keeping close watch on what was going on. It would've
been nice to have a helping hand, namely Zero, but apparently that was out of the
question. Therefore, it was left up to both of you to ensure the safety of the day
class students and make sure that the vampires stayed in their place.
Snapping you out of you thoughts, a voice spoke to you, "Hello, (y/n), Are
you enjoying the party this evening?" Turning to see who it was, you found it was
Kaname. You hadn't forgiven him for what happened the night you sat on your granny
glasses so you spoke to him very coldly.
"It's okay. It'd be nice if Zero was here, but he's a lazy bum," you told
him with you arms crossed over you chest in an angered manner.
"Do you like Zero?" he asked suddenly. Turning to him, you shot him a
confused look.
"I've lived with him for most of my life so I have to like him," you told
Kaname.
"That's not what I meant." he clarified with a laugh.
