Master data

-----------

ERP EWM
Plant Location Master
Shipping point

Material Product master

BP BP

All EWM managed plants and its shipping points are to be created as a location in
embedded solution
For that, report is /sapapo/create_location
A location cannot have multiple location types (Plant ABCD, shipping point ABCD in
hana ship point wil be SP_ABCD)

Supply chain unit

-----------------

SCU is an EWM specific master data which represents an EWM WH as a location with
physical address

Cutodian: Third party warehouse who has the physical custody of the material (owner
of the warehouse)

Owner: Consignment Vendor is the legal owner of the stock

Party entitled to dispose: Plant for which the stock is procured

Distribution model is generated

Availability Group
------------------

Availability group is an interface using which whatever stock updations happening

in EWM will be communicated back to ERP side

Types of stock
1. Unrestricted use stock
2. Quality inspection stock
3. Blocked stock
4. Returns

001-ROD
002-AFS

BP as supplier
--------------
BP Role
General data
Purchasing data FLVN01
Company code data FLVN00

whichever plants are EWM managed plants, they are to be created as Business partner
as supplier
EWM Enterprise structure
------------------------

1. EWM warehouse number

2. Storage type
3. Storage section
4. Storage bins

Storage type: Physical or logical subdivision of a warehouse complex.

storage section: subdivision of storage types

storage bins: Bin represents the exact position in the warehouse where the products
are stored

Bin type: physical attributes of the bin

bin access type: how the bin is accessed (manual, forklift)

bin identifiers: A S L (aisle, stack, level) (20 character max) RK01-01-01-01

/scwm/prbin to print storage bin labels

activity areas: logical section of the warehouse that groups storage bins based on
defined warehouse activities
(putaway, picking, internal movements, physical inventory, posting
changes)
activities are defined for warehouse (table: /scwm/taarea_ta)

Creation of storage type: conf. putaway, conf removal, putaway rules (add to stock
bin, existing etc), availability group

On confirming the WO, system creates an acknowledgement document on S/4 side

inbound delivery and is known as material document

In order to start any process in SAP EWM, we need a planning document known as
warehouse request

While creating purchase order, confirmation control: Inbound delivery, should be

selected

ERP ibd doc type - EL, item type - ELN. EWM ibd doc type - INB, ibd item type-IDLV
(for outbound OUTB, ODLV) doc cat PDI, PDO.
mapping is done betn EL and INB (erp doc type and ewm doc type) (LF OUTB)
map for item type EL ELN IBN IDLV (TAN ODLV)

Warehouse process type: WPT enable the physical/logical movement of goods/handling

units in an EWM warehouse (1010 putaway, 2010 stock removal)

Factors influencing WPT determination:

1. Warehouse number
2. Process type determination indicator
3. delivery type and item type
4. delivery priority (outbound)
5. Process indicator

Putaway strategies
------------------
stor type
---------

1. stor type search seq for putaway

2. assign stor type to search seq (multiple also can be done)
3. define pci

factors influencing determination of storage type search sequence during putaway

1. EWM Wh no
2. Putaway control indicator (PACI)
3. Warehouse process type
4. Qty classification
5. Stock type
6. Special stock type (special procuremnt process)
7. Stock Usage
8. Party entitled to dispose
9. Hazardous rating 1
10. Hazardous rating 2
11. Putaway search sequence

Optimise the search sequence

/scwm/mat1-warehouse data, u can add

For quant classification, use PUT2

for splitting during putaway: putaway rules (add to existing prdct), capacity check
(to chek the cap of bin), split during putaway

Storage section in the storage type level, section indicator in product master

QM Integration
--------------

When QM and QIE both are on same application server (embedded sytem), only
inspection lot will be generated.

Stock removal
-------------
FIFO
LIFO

Packaging Specification
-----------------------

A packaging specification is an EWM specific master data, through which we can

predefine how a product(s) are to be packed, and thereby system can generate the
handling units automatically in the delivery documents

components of packspec:
Header
Contents
Level1
level2
leveln
Header: The name of the packaging specification, the user who created it and its
status

Contents: The name of the products to be packed or the number of another packaging
specifications

Level represents the layers of packing, inner layer and outer layer

inside levels there wil be element group (EG) which has element(s)
Element(s)=Packaging mat+Workstep(apply stationary tape)

Note: Outmost level should not contain Aux Pack mat.

Define pack spec number Range

Define pack spec group

HU creation can be done automatically in level type

Dummy material is created and used as reference material, for materials that needs
to be created for similar package specification

Storage Control
---------------
Storage control is an EWM functionality using which we can design and handle
multistep movements of HUs in EWM WH

Inbound staging area group with D storage type

Decon work center with E in storage type

Configuration Steps:

1. External Steps: To every External step we need to link an internal step

Ext Step Int Step

AOUL Unloading <---> UNLO
AODC Decon <---> SPR
AOPT Putaway <---> PUR

2. Group the external steps inside storage process (assign to WPT)

AIS1 AOUL
AODC
AOPT

Group the Storage process with the warehouse

3. Assign Storage process step, in a sequential manner

auto warehouse task creation n-1

then assign WPT to the external step

Yard management
Create storage type with role G
Staging area group: Staging Storage type AOST
Staging area represent the storage section created for storage type

Staging area and door determination group DDG1

certain products should be moved from door 1 and some frm 2

Activate yard management for EWM warehouse

Yard as storage type
Check points and parking spaces as stor sections
Realisitic Checkpoint

Storage process detemination (Inbound)

Storage process--->WPT

Storage process determination (outbound)

Storage Process--WOCR-->WPT
Storage Process--WOCR-->Rules for WOCR determination WO document

Consolidation group: Based on common factor groups are created

Pick path: Optimising the pick area

WOCR is determined by CONS group and pick path

in WOCR assign the storage process and assing WOCR in WPT

Define search sequence for creation rules for activity areas

Define filters for warehouse order creation rules

Filters are two types:

1. item filter (ODO item)
2. subtotal filter (subtotal with help of cons. group)

based on weight, volume, WPT, AUN (up to 4 kgs)--FIL1

min 5 kgs to max 8kgs--FIL2

then in warehouse order creation rule give the filter

limits--size of the warehouse order--define limit values of a warehouse order

During WO creation, if the AA is not determined, system creates WO with WOCR: DEF
if we have WOCR with limits and filters, but if its not assignd to AA, system
delivers WOCR: UNDE

PPF is developed to process actions for different EWM application as listed below
(SPPFCADM)
1. Form Printings
2. Triggers follow on documents

Wave management

Wave management is used to support the planning and organising the daily warehouse
activities for outbound. This will help us to meet the customer requirement in a
cost effective and efficient way

Wave document is used to group the warehouse request items (ODO items) for
controlling the warehouse processes like picking

Configuration of wave mangmnt

1. Maintain Wave type
Wave type is used to represent the different types of wave having special
characterisctis and behaviour. Main purpose of having wave type is to enable a
focussed monitoring in the warehouse monitor.
2. Maintain wave categories
Wave category can be used as factor for filtering the WOCR.
3. Set autowave for the WPT
4. Wave capacity profile, which can determine the capacity limits of a wave documnt
wen created
5. wave template using condition technique

Internal Warehousing Process

1. Replenishment
2. Physical Inventory

Types of replenishment:
1. Planned replenishment
2. Unplanned replenishment

can happen in two types:

1. Storage type level, define max and min stock on WH product master level
2. Storage bin level, define max and min stock on storage bin level

Physcial Inventory

A physical process is an internal warehousing process where an enterprise compares

and adjst the book inventory vs actual inventory.

Difference analyser is used in EWM to make changes

Configuration for physical inventory in EWM

1. Configuration of PI in EWM is done on the physical inventory area (PIA)

2. PIA represents an activity area created for activity INVE

3. Assisting PIA to activity area 1:1

Queue Determination

Factors influencing queue determination

1.EWM WH no
2.Source Bins activity area
3.Destination Bins activity area
4.Bin Access type
5.WPT
6.Activity

Customising monitor screen

--------------------------
step 1:
IMG Path IMG Path >SPRO >IMG>SCM Extended Warehouse Management>Monitoring
Process> Warehouse Management Monitor>Customize Monitor Tree

step 2:
the nodes can be added to the right and create new monitor "CAT"

RF: Radio frequeuncy

Scanners: hand held devices

Truck mount devices

options are same, screen sizes are different

Display profile: screen sizes

Presentation profile : --> WHN

Personalisation profile : --> Userwise we can use (inbound or outbound)

HU
---

Define packaging material types(eg. MYCB, MYPL, MYAX)

Define material group (MYPG)
Define allowed packaging materials (MYPG->MYCB MYPL MYAX)

Set number range for HU identification

HU type group: Spacial appearance and how to handle it

pack material is assigned to HU type (1:1) (plastic pallets, wooden boxes etc...)

Define HU types (are maintained at client level)

Define HU type group (warehouse level)
Define HU types for each warehouse number and assign HU type group

MM01 --> material type (VERP)

In material type of EWM, /scwm/mat1 for product MYWH-CB, in pkg data give packaging
mater type MYCB and HU TYPE MYH1

HU Warehouse task-->scan at HU level

Prod WT-->scan at prod level

Alternate unit of measurment

----------------------------

in master data->products give AUom

in storage type give qty classification as C (carton box or pallet etc..)

Packspec
--------

PS Group --- Group for similar set of products

Level set --- set of levels predefined (then assign level set to PS group)
Level type --- create level types and assign to level set in sequence

Stock removal
-------------
FIFO LIFO to sequence

WOCR can be determined at the activity area level

PI area
-------

PIA-->AA 1:1

storage bin sorting: AA+ST+activity

will be done in physical entry area
