This pattern is written using UK terminology. There is a difference between UK and US
terminology. I have attached a conversion chart at the end of this pattern to help you.

Stitches which may be used;
Ch – Chain
Mr – Magic Ring
St - Stitch
Dc – Double crochet
Inc – increase (two dc in one st)
Dec – decrease (dc two stitches together)
Tc – Treble Crochet
Htc – Half Treble Crochet
Dtc – double treble crochet
5tcc – 5treble crochet cluster which is created into one stitch – only half finish each
treble and then finish all five together. Also known as a Bobble St.
BLO – Back loop only
FLO – Front loop only
Sl st – Slip stitch
FO – Finish off
For this pattern I have used;
Yarn Art Dolce chenille – 1 x 100g ball of each colour – White and Orange
6mm hook
Stuffing (Fiberfil)
Safety eyes – I have used 12mm
Needle
Scissors
Stitch Markers
We will be working in continuous rounds throughout this pattern unless stated
otherwise.

Head
Using white.
1. 6dc in mr (6)
2. 1inc in each st (12)
3. (1dc, 1inc) x 6 (18)
4. (8dc, 1inc) x 2 (20)
5. – 7. 1dc in each st for 3 rounds (20)
8. (3dc, 1dec) x 4 (16)
Insert the safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6 with approximately 6 stitches
between them.
Start stuffing the head and continue as you work your way to close.
9. (2dc, 1dec) x 4 (12)
10. (1dec) x 6 (6)
FO. Close the hole.

Body
Using white.
1. 5dc in mr (5)
2. 1inc in each st (10)
3. 1dc in each st (10)
4. (1dc, 1inc) x 5 (15)
5. (2dc, 1inc) x 5 (20)
6. – 8. 1htc in each st for 3 rounds (20)
9. (2htc, 1htc-dec) x 5 (15)
10. (1htc, 1htc-dec) x 5 (10)
11. (3htc, 1htc-dec) x 2 (8)
12. Press the body flat and dc along the
opening to close. 4dc. (4)
FO. Leave a long tail for sewing to the head.

Feet x 2
Using orange.
1. 4dc in mr (4)
2. (1inc, 1dc) x 2 (6)
3. (1inc, 2dc) x 2 (8)
4. (1inc, 3dc) x 2 (10)
5. 1dc in each st (10)
6. Press flat and work through both sides as
follows; Ch1, turn so you will be working along the top
of the foot. 1htc, 1slst, 1tc-inc, 1slst, 1htc, 1slst into
same st.
FO. Sew in all the ends.
Legs x 2
Using orange.
1. 4dc in mr (4)
2. – 4. 1dc in each st for 3 rounds (4)
FO. Leave a long tail for sewing to the foot.

Wings x 2.
Using white.
1. 5dc in mr (5)
2. 1inc in each st (10)
3. – 5. 1htc in each st for 3 rounds (10)
6. (1htc-dec) x 5 (5)
7. Press flat, crochet through both sides to close.
Try to do 3dc along the top.
FO. Leave a tail for sewing to the body.

Beak
Using orange.
1. Ch12, join to 1st ch, 1dc in each ch around. (12)
2. Press flat, dc through both sides to close one end. 6dc. (6)
*The open side of the beak should be the starting ch. That is the side we will be sewing
to the head.

Assembly
Wings
The wings should be positioned one row away from the end of the body (the neck).
Fold them around the side of the body to sew them on.
Legs to feet
Pin the open end of the leg to the pointed end of the feet. The back of the leg should
sit flush with the back of the foot. The legs should sit between rounds 1 and 3 of the
foot.
Once you are happy with the position, sew the leg to the foot.

Legs
Pin the legs to round 6 of the body with 4 stitches between them. Make sure the feet
are facing the front.
Once you are happy with the position, sew the legs to the body.
Beak
The open end of the beak should be pinned to the head between rounds 5 and 6 in
line with the middle of the eyes. Make sure the ends of the beak curve under the
eyes as can be seen in the pics. The underside of the beak should be pinned
between rounds 7 and 8.
Once you are happy with the position, sew the beak to the head.

Head to body.
Pin the body between rounds 10 and 11 of the head. I line mine up with the beak.
Once you are happy with the position, sew the head to the body.
