LEARNING
RESOURCES
A. Science Ideas Humans have five major sense organs:
eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin.
Each sense organ has a specific function:
seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and
feeling.
Sense organs help us interact with and
understand the world around us.

Do you understand student?
D. Explain
Our lesson for today is all about
human sense Organ.
Eyes (Seeing)
Sight, often known as vision, is
our ability to see.
The eyes are the human body's
visual sense organs.
Our eyes are sensitive to
images of light.
Seeing happens when the eyes
detect and focus on images.
A laptop
Try to look at this. What do you see? Gray
What's the color of the laptop?
Very good children
Ear (Hearing)
Hearing is our ability to sense
sounds. It is also known as
auditory perception or audition.
We have an auditory system that
allows us to detect vibrations and
hear noises.
➤ We have auditory organs in our
ears.
➤ Vibrations travel via a medium such
as air.
I need five students that sound a
Yes teacher, 5 student make a
different animal sounds and you're
sound
going to identify each. Is that okay?
Very good
Nose(Smelling)
Olfaction is another term for the
sense of smell.
We have an olfactory system that
allows us to sense and perceive
various odors and fragrances.
The nose is an olfactory organ.
The nose can also function as a
taste organ.
➤ Humans breathe through two
holes in their noses known as
nostrils.
Tongue(Tasting)
We have one tongue through
which we sense different tastes
and flavors such as sweet, salty,
sour, and bitter.
The papillae are the tiny lumps
on the tongue.
Taste buds are located between
the papillae.
Skin (Touching)
Skin is the largest organ.
Our skin's receptors allow us to
detect texture, pain, warmth,
pressure, and pain.
Skin receptors send an impulse
to the spinal cord which
subsequently sends it to the
brain.
Now, we have five of human sense
organs which is are eyes, ears, nose,
tongue, and skin. In order for them to
function well, we have to learn to
apply healthy habits. Some of this are:
1. Take a bath everyday
2. Use umbrella when walking
under the sun
3. Exercise regularly
4. Brush your teeth three times a
day
5. Wash your hands
It is important to understand how to
protect our sense organs to get rid of
diseases and we must practice
healthy lifestyle by being clean at all
times and eating food that is rich in
nutrients.
E. Elaborate
Generalization
So now, we can identify already Eye is for the sense of sight
the five important senses organ Ear is for the sense of hearing Nose
in our body and its function. is for the sense of smelling
Tongue is for the sense of taste
What are they?
Skin is for the sense touch
1. Why are sense organs important in
our everyday life?
Application
What sense organ I am?(By-pair-
activity)
Students your seatmate is your
partner. One or you will be the
“Body,” and the other will be the
“Thinker”. Each pair will receive a set
of five sense organ puppets or
cutouts:
A. Instruction: I will read a short
scenario aloud you and your partner
will think together and decide which
sense organ is being used in that
situation. Then the ‘Thinker’ will
take the correct puppet and attach
it to the right part of the ‘Body’
partner”
