Format of Project Submission.
Latest update
Preparation: The projects should also be prepared in the form accepted for
scientific reports or dissertations.
The title Page should contain info about the title of the work, student’s name,
professor’s name, TA’s name, student’s e-mail, the telephone number at which
he/she could be contacted,, serial number within the circle on the top of the title.
This page should be typed.
Assignment Pages: Immediately following the title page should be assignment
pages. If no original assignment pages are included, with your own s number, or if
the title page is not typed, a penalty of 20% will be implemented.
Abstract: Describe in your words what this project is going to accomplish; what it
is about; what is your goal in this project. The abstract cannot be extremely brief.
Acknowledgement: Please express thanks to those who helped you, using their
names.
Body of the Project: Should contain Abstract; Table of contents according to the
pages (project pages including computer outputs should be numbered);
Formulation of the problem; Main results including numerical results; Conclusion;
Appendices (if any).
Original pages with derivations should be submitted; n copies will be counted.
Questions and answers should be readable, having font 12 or 14.
The origin of the coordinate system should be chosen at the left end of the beam.
Margins: On the left side of the page margin of 1 inch should be observed.
Spacing: observe double space whether you type the project or write it by hand,
Page numbering: Pages should be numbered in the right corner of the page.
Partial conclusion: Each problem should end with a conclusion pertaining to the
problem.
Typing: The project should be typed in WORD.
Computer use:
A. Determinants. If you encounter determinant of order greater than 4 by 4, you
must use software like MAPLE, or MATLAB or WOLFRAM ALPHA and include
the snapshots of evaluating the determinant in your project.
B. Solving equations. Likewise, the commands of solving the equation and
obtained solution of the transcendental equations should be displayed as derived on
computer as a proof that it was indeed determined and not guessed or arbitrarily
assigned.
C. Transcendental equations: if you encounter transcendental equation or need to
plot the result of evaluating determinant you must make a plot by using the needed
software and include the snapshot(s) in the project.
The assignment of each problem should appear in front of each solution that you
are furnishing to make your project reader friendly. This means that you should
extract the assignment part and display it in front of solution of each problem.
Directions: In case you feel that no sufficient directions were given, you must
approach the lecturer in the initial stages and pose associated question(s).
Spellchecking:
King Sigismund (1368-14377) is attributed the following saying:
“I am King of Rome,
and above the grammar!”
None of us is the King of Rome; we better follow the rules of grammar 😊!
So, we need to use spellcheck to help submit grammatically correct projects
