Let’s get
acquainted

Hello, my dear amigurumi lovers!

My name is Olga and I love toys
designing! I would call this
document a little adventure, not
only the pattern.

Pay attention, that this work is my intellectual property and

any sharing this pattern, copying or posting in Internet and
also reselling it are prohibited. It is for Your personal use only!

I worked very hard to write this pattern and hope You

respect my work. The toys made according to my patterns can
be used for any purposes! Thank You for understanding!

All the yarn listed can be
Tools and substituted with any other yarn
with similar weight (number 2 in the
materials Standard Yarn Weight System)

1. Yarn:
YarnArt Jeans (50g/160m), red (number ) - a half of a skein;
Alize Cotton Gold (100g/330m), graphite color (number 182) - less
than half of a skein;
YarnArt Jeans (50g/160m), white color (number 01) - a small

2. Fiberfill.
3. 2mm crochet hook (US 4) - I used Clover.
4. Scissors.
5. Needle.
6. Stitch marker, pins.
Pay attention! In this pattern we use
Abbreviations US terminology.

MR - magic ring inc - increase

R - round dec - decrease
st, sts - stitch, stitches sl st - slip stitch
ch - chain
sc - single crochet

Notes Please, read the following carefully.

Some pieces of the car are crocheted in turning rows and some are
crocheted in rounds (follow the instruction carefully).

This finished car will have an approximate size of 15cm (5.9 inches)
in length and 6.5cm high (2.3 inches) if you are using the above
materials listed. My stitches have an semi-X-shape (I do yarn under,
then yarn over when working sc stitch). If you do yarn over and yarn
over, then your toy would be bigger size.
Also pay attention if you are using a different material to crochet
the toy, the size would be different than mine.

The pattern doesn’t include any crochet lessons. You should know
how to crochet basic stitches.

Hope you enjoy making your fire truck! I will be glad to see it finished!

Work in red color, then change to white.
Some parts of the car are crocheted in
Cab turning rows and some parts are
crocheted in rounds.

Take red yarn. We are going to work in

turning rows.
R1. Make ch21. From the second ch from
the hook: 20sc, ch, turn (20)
R2-15. 20sc, ch, turn (20) - 14 rows.
Don’t make ch after finishing the row 15
and continue crocheting around three
sides of the piece we have made:
Rows 1-15
R16. 1sc into the corner, 15sc across the
edge of turning rows, 1sc into the
corner, 20sc across the longer side of
the piece, 1sc into the corner, 15sc
across the edge of turning rows, 1sc into
the corner, then change to white color.
(We worked 54 stitches - short round).

Pay attention! Row 16

It’s better to change the color when working the last stitch in the red
round. Do it in this way:
Last stitch color changing: hook in and pull a loop of red yarn, then pull
out the white yarn passing through both red loops (see the photos
below).
R17. Crochet around the piece in a spiral,
working into back loops only: 74sc (74)
From the next round we will make increases
on the front side of the cab. Look at the
photo below: the points where we will
increase are indicated with arrows.

R18. 36sc, inc, 20sc, inc, 16sc (76) Rows 1-17

R19.76sc (76)
R20. 37sc, inc, 20sc, inc, 17sc (78)
R21. 78sc (78)
R22. 38sc, inc, 20sc, inc, 18sc (80)
R23-24. 80sc

Change to red color:

R25-32. 80sc (80) - 8 rounds
If your rounds are shiftet, then you need to
work several sc stitches to get to the corner.
Crochet whole piece in red color. Starts
with turning rows, then continuous
Truck rounds. We will join it with the cab after
finishing.

R1. Make ch21. From the second ch

from the hook: 20sc, ch, turn (20)
R2-27. 20sc, ch, turn (20) - 26 rows.
Don’t make ch after finishing the row 27
and continue crocheting around three
sides of the piece we have made:

R28.1sc into the corner, 27sc across the

longer side, 1sc into the corner, 20sc,
1sc into the corner, 27sc across the
longer side, 1sc into the corner (78 sts
in this short row). Rows 1-28

Now we continue crocheting around

the piece we have made.

R29. Back loops only: 98sc (98)

Continue crocheting in rounds into
both loops:
R30-43. 98sc (98) - 14 rounds

Rows 1-43
Stop and check, is finishing rounds
located at the truck’s corner. If it’s
shifted, then you need to work several
sc additionally to get to the corner.
Now, switch to white color(using the
same way of color changing on the
cab).
In the next round we are going to join two pieces and crochet around
them both. Work in white color:

R44. 49sc on the piece we are working at (truck). Then take the second
piece and count 21 stitches from the beginning of the round (make sure
the protruding part of the cab is facing forward).

Continue crocheting from the 22nd stitch onwards for 59sc.

skip 21sts of the truck, then continue crocheting from the 22nd stitch
onwards for 28sc (136) 21 sts

R45. 136sc (136)

Take a needle and a red thread to sew

up the opening between the cab and
the truck (bottom) and also the top (see
photos in the next page).
Then at once embroider windows lines with the same red thread:
one stripe on each side, one line on each corner and one line on the
front side:

Continue crocheting. Change to red color:

R46-47.136sc (136) - two rounds
Finish with sl st. Cut, leaving a very long thread tail for sewing.

Crochet whole piece in graphite color.

Bottom Work in turning rows. We will sew it
with the main piece after finishing.

Make ch21, work in turning rows from the second ch from the hook:
R1. 20sc, ch, turn (20)
R2-45. 20sc, ch, turn (20) - 44 rows
Continue crocheting around the piece we have made:
1sc into the corner, 45sc, 1sc into the corner, 1sc, inc, 16sc, inc, 1sc,
1sc into the corner, 45sc, 1sc into the corner (136)
Finish with sl st, fasten off and cut the thread.

Put the bottom on the cardboard sheet (or use a plastic sheet) and draw
an outline around it. Cut and trim about 2mm on each side. We will
insert this bottom into our fire truck.

Crochet in rounds. Each wheel

Wheels consists of two pieces. We need to
make four wheels.

The first piece

Start crocheting in white color:
R1. 6sc into MR (6)
R2. 6inc (12)
Change to black color:
R3. (1sc, inc)*6 (18)
R4. (2sc, inc)*6 (24)

Finish with sl st. Fasten off the thread and cut, leaving a very long tbread
tail for sewing purposes. The length of the tail should be about 50cm.
The second piece is crocheted in
black color.
R1. 6sc into MR (6)
R2. 6inc (12)
R3. (1sc, inc)*6 (18)
R4. (2sc, inc)*6 (24)
Finish with sl st and cut the thread.

Now we are going to sew up the two pieces. Put the piece with white
round on the black one and thread a needle. Sew two pieces. Make
three stitches into every stitch of both pieces when sewing, to make the
round edge.

Highlights Crochet in yellow color.

FRONT HEADLIGHTS (make two)

Work in yellow color. Make 8sc in MR
and end with sl st. Fasten off the
thread and cut, leaving a tail for
sewing.
TAIL LIGHTS (make two)
Work in yellow or red color (on your
choice). Make ch5 and work from the
2nd ch from the hook: 4sc. Fasten off
the thread and cut,
leaving a tail for sewing.

Light bar

Start crocheting in blue color:

R1. 6sc in MR (6)
R2-5. 6sc (6) - 4 rounds
Change to grey color.
R6-10. 6sc (6) - 5 rounds
Change to blue color.
R11-15. 6 sc (6) - 5 rounds

Cut the thread, leaving a long thread

tail for sewing. Closed up the opening
by passing through front loops of the
last round.
1. At first we join the main piece with the
Assembly bottom. Take the main piece and stuff it.
Try to form a necessary shape. The sides
of the car shouldn’t be round.

Fix the bottom with pins and start sewing.

When three sides of the car are sewn,
insert the cardboard piece inside and
continue sewing. Add fiberfill as you sew.
The truck should get a rectangle shape.

2. Now fix the wheels with pins and sew

them. Find the most successful location.
The wheels shouldn’t be located close to
each other.
3. Fix the light bar on the cab roof counting 4 rounds from the edge and
sew it. Weave on the thread tail inside.

4. Fix the front highlights with pins on the front side right to the white
stripe. Sew them. Weave in the thread tails inside.

5. Take the tail lights and fix them on the back side of the car right to
the white stripe. Sew them .Weave in the thread tails inside.
6. Embroider a ladder on one side of the fire truck. Use a white thread.
Step two rounds from the top. The ladder width is 7 stitches. At first make
two long stitches. Then embroider stairs.

7. On the other side of the fire truck make white stitches to imitate doors.
Step two rounds from the top. The length of vertical stitches is 10 sts, the
length of horizontal stitches is 20 stitches. Then make white handles.

8. And the last step - embroider two

black stitchesdiagonally on the front
windows.
