load slip of 4.1%. Find the l) Synchronous speed, 2) No-load speed, 3) full-load speed, 4)

What is the purpose of using double-cage totors? Explain the construction and working
principle of a 3-phase double squirrel cage induction motor. Alsó, draw its equivalent circuit
and torque-speed characteristics.

A 7.5kw, 400 V, 4 pole delta-connected squirrel cage induction motor gave the following
test results:
No-load test : 400V, 6.5 A, 200 watts.
Blocked-rotor test : 80V, 27 A, 800watts.
The D.C. resistance of the stator winding per phase measured immnediately after the blocked
rotor test is 0.6 S2. Calculate the rotational losses and the equivalent circuit parameters. 5
The field form of a 3-phase, 50 Hz, 10-pole, star-connected altenator has a spatial flux
density distribution given by the expression B= sin 9+ 0.3 sin 39 T. The machine has 180
slots and has a two-layer winding with-turn coils. Each eoil spans 15 slots, the coils being
