Concept:
The school is a social institution designed to educate individuals. It is a learning environment that can
establish diverse physical locations, contexts, and cultures in which students learn. As the learning
experience of the students in their school can be seen as subjective, studying such space as a learning
environment must take into account how differences come into play in facilitating learning. It is important to
consider the entire school environment, the ways students interact with one another, the varied cultures,
characteristics and values of each student, the classroom setting, and the teachers’ ability to organize the
environment to facilitate learning.
