Greetings!
I have learned through the Department of Agriculture – Western Visayas that your
office is in need of qualified personnel. With this, I would like to formally apply for
the position of Science Research Specialist I with Plantilla Item Number OSEC-
DAB-SRAS1-53-2014. My name is Grace Glend Gabisay, a registered Agriculturist
(License No. 16436) since 2013, having passed the Agriculture Licensure
Examination in July 2011. I am also an accredited researcher of the DA–Fertilizer and
Pesticide Authority for Plant Nutrition Trial (PNT-310), and I recently obtained
accreditation as a Certified Pesticide Applicator – Fumigation Category. In addition, I
have earned 18 academic units towards a Master of Science in Agriculture.
In line with this, I recently conducted an investigation on species of rhizobial
microbial (bacteria and fungi) consortium in Brassica rapa through a bio-efficacy
trial for the registration of a new microbial biostimulant product, carried out during
both the Wet and Dry Seasons of 2025. This experience strengthened my skills in
research design, implementation, and analysis, and reflects my dedication to pursuing
agricultural research.
Previously, I served in government service as Teacher II (SG 12, Step 2). I decided to
leave my post to focus on cultivating my research expertise and to prioritize my
health. My passion lies in nurturing the researcher in me—investigating, discovering,
and generating new knowledge that uplifts farming communities, informs agricultural
stakeholders, and contributes to environmental stewardship. I firmly believe that my
academic background, professional experience, and passion for agricultural research
make me a strong candidate for the position. I am eager to contribute to the
Department’s mission of advancing agricultural development and supporting farmers
across the region.
