Below are the guides for toolbars, controls, and
component lists of TinkerCAD:
• Profile- located at the top-left of your screen upon
logging-in. You can put your picture there.
• 3D designs, Circuits, Codeblocks and Lessons
Tabs- located just below the profile. These are the
different features of TinkerCAD.
• Circuits- clicking the circuits tab allows user to

Tools & Toolbar:
Rotate: is the tool for rotation, to use it you must click the
component and then click the rotation tool or press R in your
keyboard to make the component rotate clockwise and Shift
+ R to make it rotate counterclockwise.
Delete: trash-bin-like icon is the tool for delete, if you want
something to delete in your circuit, click on that component
and click the trash-bin button (delete).
Undo: if you’ve done something that is not part of your
circuit you can undo by clicking the undo button.
Tools & Toolbar:
Redo: located beside the undo button, if you’ve undo too much you
can redo it by clicking this button.
Notes tool: if you want to take a note for something on your circuit,
click the button and drag it to the place you want to take note and
then write the note that you want.
Toggle notes visibility: toggle it on and off to see and unsee the
notes that you’ve put.
Wire color: button that use to change the color of the wires you will
use in the circuit.
Wire Type: you can choose what type of wire you will use: normal
wire, alligator wire and hookup wire.
Tools & Toolbar:
Component lists- contains the components we can use in
creating our circuit.
Categories of Component Lists:
Basic, Arduino, Microbit and Circuit assemblies.
*You can also view all components by choosing All.
Detail view- click when you want to know the definition of a
component.
Project Name- this is where you can name your circuit. It is
located at the upper left corner beside the logo of
TinkerCAD.
Tools & Toolbar:
Toggle Code Editor- this is used for components that needs a
coding like Arduino. You can choose if you want to program
your Arduino using blocks, blocks + text, or purely text only.
Start/Stop Simulation- after you’ve finished your circuit you
can now simulate it by clicking this button.
Component list- if you want to see the list of components
that you’ve used, you can switch form circuit view to
component lists, then click circuit view again to go back to
your circuit.
Tools & Toolbar:
Export- if you’ve done you can export your circuit in a
.BRD file format, in order to view and open this file
you must download Eagle software using internet.
Share- you can also share your circuit by clicking the
share button, here you can choose if you want to
download the snapshot of your circuit or share it with
others by inviting them.
Schematic View- allows user to view and download
the schematic diagram of your project.
How to insert the components and connect
them to each other?
• Drag- use to put the components from the lists to the
area development
• In order to connect the components, click the terminal
ends and wait for box to appear, click to that box and
connect it to another terminal end of the next
component.
• Change the color of a wire in your circuit, usually we use
red for positive terminal and black for ground or
negative terminal.
