Title:
🌌 Exploring Space: A Journey Beyond Earth!

By: [Student's Name]

Grade 5 – Research Booklet

🪐 Page 2 – What Is Space Exploration?

Text:
Space exploration is when people and machines go beyond Earth to learn about space. We explore
planets, stars, moons, and even other galaxies!

The first artificial satellite was Sputnik 1 from Russia. The first man in space was Yuri Gagarin in 1961.
And in 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the Moon and said, “That’s one
small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

We use robots, rovers, and space probes to explore where humans can't go. Telescopes like the
James Webb help us look at stars billions of miles away!

Image Suggestion:

 Rocket launching

 Astronaut standing on the Moon

 Satellite and telescope images

Fun Fact:
The Moon has no air or weather—and astronauts' footprints can last for millions of years!

🌟 Page 3 – Why Do We Explore Space? (Benefits)

1. Learn About the Universe

We discover new planets, stars, and galaxies. We study black holes, supernovas, and even search for
life on other planets like Mars.

2. Help Earth
Satellites help us predict weather, track hurricanes, and find pollution. Space tech helps farmers grow
more crops using Earth observation data.

3. New Inventions
Many things we use today were created for space! For example:

 Memory foam

 Water filters

 Wireless headphones
 GPS systems

4. International Teamwork
Space missions often include scientists from different countries working together peacefully, like on
the International Space Station (ISS).

5. Inspire Curiosity
Space exploration makes kids and adults wonder and dream. It encourages people to study science
and technology!

Image Suggestion:

Fun Fact:
The Mars rover Curiosity has been exploring Mars since 2012!

🚫 Page 4 – What Are the Drawbacks?

1. It's Expensive
One space mission can cost billions of dollars. Some people think that money should be used for
schools, hospitals, or solving problems on Earth.

2. It’s Dangerous
Space has no oxygen, extreme temperatures, and dangerous radiation. Rockets can explode, and
astronauts face health problems in zero gravity.

3. Space Junk
Old satellites, broken rockets, and debris orbit Earth. They can crash into working spacecraft. NASA
tracks over 27,000 pieces of junk!

4. Long Time Away from Earth

Astronauts can feel homesick. Long missions take months or even years, and it's hard to stay healthy
in space.

5. Impact on the Environment

Rocket launches can cause air pollution and use up a lot of fuel.

Image Suggestion:
Illustration of space junk around Earth, or astronauts floating in zero gravity.

Fun Fact:
Astronauts grow taller in space because there’s no gravity pressing on their spines!

💬 Page 5 – What I Think (My Opinion)

Text:
I think space exploration is very exciting! It helps us learn more about where we live in the universe.
Even though it costs a lot, I believe it's worth it because of all the amazing things we discover.

It’s important to keep Earth healthy while we explore space. I believe we should explore carefully,
clean up space junk, and work together with other countries.
Maybe one day, people will live on the Moon or even Mars. I would love to be an astronaut or
scientist and help discover new things in space!

Image Suggestion:

Fun Fact:
You can’t cry in space the way we do on Earth—tears just float around!

🌠 Page 6 – Super Cool Space Facts!

 🚀 The fastest rocket so far is Parker Solar Probe, traveling at 430,000 mph!

 🌌 The universe is over 13.8 billion years old.

 🌍 From space, astronauts can’t see borders between countries.

 👨‍🚀 The longest time someone lived in space is 437 days (Valeri Polyakov, Russia).

 🌖 The Moon is slowly moving away from Earth—about 1.5 inches per year!

 🛸 Scientists have not found aliens yet, but they keep searching!

 🔭 The James Webb Space Telescope can see galaxies from billions of years ago!

Image Suggestion:

 Cartoon aliens and spaceships

 Telescope looking at stars

 Space facts in comic style bubbles
