Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburagi invites applications from


eligible candidates for engagement as teaching faculty in the following
depm1ment purely on contractual basis for one semester or until further orders,
whichever is earlier. The details of the posts and the number of positions are

on contractual basi s, fac ulty shall be paid a remuneration of Rs. 40,000/- for candidates possessing
UGC/CSIR- NET and Rs. 45 ,000/- for candidates possessing UGC/CS JR- NET along with Ph .D. in

UGC, or who are or have been award ed a Ph. D. Degree in accorda nce w ith the
Grants Commission

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July I I, 2009 ha!I b
governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/ Bye-laws/ Regula ti o n of th
Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted fro m th
requirement of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivale nt
positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the foll ow ing
conditions:-

a. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode ;
b. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d. The proof of having completed the course work as per UGC norms.
e. The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out o f whi h
at least one is in a refereed journal;
f. The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D wo rk in
conferences/seminars sponsored/funded /supported by the UGC I ICSSR/ CSIR or a ny
similar agency.

Note:
NET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET is not
conducted by the UGC, CSIR.

The Ph.D . degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top
500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the followin g: (i) Quacquarelli
Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic
Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Note:
The Academic score as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) for Universities, and Appendix II (Table 3B)
for Colleges shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections
shall be based only 011 the performance in the interview.

GENERAL Information

1. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Persons with Di sabilities will be as per the
existing Government of India norm s as amended from time to time. Candidates applying
for the reserved posts should clearl y state to which catego1y they belong. They must also
enclose a Certificate issued by Tah sildar/Mandal Revenue Officer/Equivalent authority
as proof to ·this effect, without which the application will not be considered. In case a
candidate wants to claim benefits under the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) category,
the candidate' s relevant disability should be not less than 40% . Proof to this effect, must
be enclosed with the application, without which the application will be treated as
'General (unreserved)'.

Candidates applying for the post(s) reserved for OBC, should submit a self-attested copy
of valid caste certificate specifically mentioning Creamy Layer-exclusion in the format
prescribed by Govt. of India (www .[Link] , which should not be more than 6 months
old from the last date of submission of application) issued by competent authority, vi de
Column 3 of GO! Dept. of Personnel and Training O.M. No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT)
dated 8.9.1993 and modified vide DoPT's 0.M . No. 36033/3/2004- Estt.(Res) dated
9.3 .2004, subsequently revised vide O.M. No.36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated
14.10.2008. The OBC Certificate must be in the format as prescribed by the Govt. of
India vide OM No. 36036/2/2013- Estt. (Res.) dated 30/05/2014.

2. A relaxation of5% (i.e., from 60% to 55% for Management and Engineering disciplines
and 55% to 50% for rest of the disciplines) shall be provided at the Graduate and Masters
level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Persons with Disability (PWD /Other
Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy layer) categories for the purpose of eligibility
and for assessing good academic record. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation
of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying
marks without including any grace mark procedures.

3. Relaxation in Age, Percentage etc., will only be considered in the reserved catego1y
posts.

4. Each Eligible candidate has to fill only one application for the one patticular post. The
same application shall be considered for both unreserved and reserved post if the
candidate from reserved category is eligible for unreserved post.

5. Candidates must write their Email ID neatly and correctly for mailing written
examination/ interview/appointment letter as attachment. The e-mail date will be
considered as the official date of dispatch and receipt of communication. Candidates not
having an e-mail-ID must create an ID and check it regularly for further communication.

6. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted at any time at the
time of engagement or during the tenure of service. In case, it is detected that the
documents submitted are fake or the candidate has clandestine antecedents/background
and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be terminated forthwith.

7. Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum


Standards and Procedure for Award [Link]./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or2016
and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET.

8. Fake/derecognized Institutions: Candidates, who have obtained degrees or diplomas or


certificates for various courses from any Institution declared fake/derecognized by the
University Grants Commission, New Delhi shall not be eligible for being considered for
recruitment to the posts advertised.

9. No person shall be recruited unless he/she is in good mental and bodily health and free
from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his
official duties. Before a candidate recruited directly is finally approved for appointment

17. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any Lime with ul
giving any reason or change or alter the number of vacancies again st any or th po t
advertised or not to fill any vacancy.

18 . At the time of Interview candidates have to produce the original certifi cat
testimonials I books I published research papers/etc.

19. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the deci 1 n
of the University shall be fina l.

20. No interim· correspondence shall be entertained.

21. Candidates appointed shall not be entitled to claim for any weightage for regul ar
appointment I position in the University at a later date.

23. Selected candidates must submit a copy of PAN card at the time of joining/ within a
period of one month to release the payment.

24. Anything not covered above shall be governed by UGC/MHRD/GOI norms issued from
time to time.

25. The remuneration is given for the classes I practical including evaluation process

26. For hourly basis, the remuneration maximum ceiling per month per facu lty is Rs.
25000/-.

27. Selected Contractual I Hourly basis faculty would be given workload as per UGC norms
and must work full time from the campus during the tenure of engagement and should
have their online teaching arrangements like own laptop etc.

28. Legal disputes if any will be subject to Kalaburagi jurisdiction only.
