each stitch.

NOTES:
On Round 2 & Round 3 you will always work a CC1 st with CC1 yarn and a CC2 stitch with CC2
yarn.

Be mindful of your tension on Rounds 2 and 3. You do not want to pull your stitches super tight
but you also do not want your stitches hanging loose on your right needle or else your braid will
not look neat.

4 OF 9
COLOR DOMINANCE ON COLOR WORK SECTIONS
You will be working 2 color work sections- one section on the leg between the Latvian Braids, and
one just before the toe. It is important in color work that you keep you tension even and not too
tight. For sharp and well defined color work you will need to be mindful of how you grab the yarns
to create your knit stitches. The yarn to the left will always be your dominant color which means it
will appear “on top” not stuck behind the other color you’re using. Below are 3 examples of how to
hold your yarn for the color work sections for perfect color dominance!
NOTE: CC2 is dominant in this pattern.

This is my FAVORITE way to knit 2 color

colorwork! My left hand holds the color I
want to be the dominant color, I knit this
side continental.
My right hand holds the background color, I
knit this side English.

This is how you hold both yarns in your left

hand if you knit continental. You will need to
make sure that the color you want to be
dominant is always to the left of the
background color.

This is how you hold both yarns in your right

hand if you knit English. You will need to
make sure that the color you want to be
dominant is always to the left of the
background color.
