JOB SUMMARY
The Officer in Charge reports to the depot chief instructor on all matters of general training of
the section.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical advisor to Officers-In-Charge and trainers in crafting Ceremonial Parades
and Quarter Guards and also to instructors on presentation of drill lessons
Maintenance of lesson plan, lesson supervision and evaluation files.
Supervision of Instructors during training and carrying out assessments with the
Assistant Inspectors.
Compilation of Training Reports and end of course reports.
Head of the examination committee.
Monitoring weekly and monthly inspections.
Monitoring and enforcing the discipline and conduct of instructors, supporting staff
and recruits.
Standardizing all first aid notes in line with St Johns Ambulance’s latest editions.
Evaluation of recruits during and towards completion of the course.
Supplying questionnaires to recruits after completion of their course.
Assisting instructors and Depot supporting staff with the requisite knowledge in first
aid by conducting workshops.
To make sure that the squads have a trainer during the absence of their parent
instructor due to other commitments.
Supervision of Depot work programme on allocation of drill and first aid lessons.
In charge of tutorship and on the job training programmers.
Supervising barrack allocation, maintenance and cleanliness.
Satisfying the sections internal and external resource person’s requirements.
Carrying out any other duties related to training as may be assigned by the O.I.C
from time to time.

Updating books and records
Security of all records and their destructions
Accountable of all section members
Accountable for all office and equipment used by the section.
Responsible for staff developmental training
Compile Annual performance Reports for members.
Handling welfare of section members and recruits.
Responsible for offices, barracks and furniture mantainance.
Any other duties that may be assigned by the O.I.C

JOB SUMMARY
The main functions of this post are to be an adult presence in the barracks responsible for the safe
guarding, welfare and security of recruits by assisting the Officer in Charge Drill and their members in
the supervision of the health and welfare issues of female recruits as well as cleaning of their barracks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Monitoring the training of newly attested female recruits the following disciplines:
welfare
discipline
counseling
Cleanliness of recruits uniforms and barracks on daily basis and during inspections.
Assisting recruits in report writing, their general administration and anything pertaining to their
welfare.
To provide adult cover and be available to recruits for their needs as when required.
To maintain the duty roster to for all female recruits in their respective barracks.
To oversee safety and security of recruits.
To supervise the general cleanliness of recruits and their barracks as well
To inform the O.I.C Drill of any unexplained recruit absence and to take other appropriate
action.
To be the primary giver and facilitate medication of recruits who would have gone sick at
irregular times.
To ensure that the property and equipment in the barracks is being well maintained.
To respond to other incidences as they arise.
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by her superiors.
To adhere to the police code of conduct and report concerns about other staff behavior.
Supervising other instructors or trainers junior to him and any other duties which may be
assigned from time to time.

The instructor is responsible for the basic training of police recruits immediately
after attestation, imparting military discipline to recruits and carrying out any
other duties as may be assigned be the Officer in Charge.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Training newly attested recruits in the following disciplines;
Foot and arms drill
First aid
Physical training
Cleanliness of recruits, barracks i.e. both internal and external
environment.
Cleanliness of trainees uniforms on daily basis during inspections.
Evaluation of trainees during and towards completion of training
programme.
Carry out any necessary drills during pass out parades.
Compiling disciplinary dockets for recruits.
Assisting recruits in report writing, their general administration and
anything pertaining to their welfare.
