The Graph shows Average Carbon Dioxide (IELTS 11 task 1)
The line graph illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide were extracted by individual, measured in metric
tons, over the years from 1967 to 2007. From the line graph it is clear that, United kingdom was the
highest in emissions whereas in Portugal observed it lower. Additionally, all other countries were felt
between two extremes.
In 1967, the amount of carbon was emitted was on the peaked which retrogressed minimally overtime
till 2007. However, Sweden showed variation of emission per citizen and initially the amount was just
over 8 metric tons which rocketed to the following decade by 1977 at approximately 10 metric tons.
After that, there was found a waning in the following decade till 2007, reaching to almost 6 metric tons.
However initially a dramatic diminish was recorded till 1987 and then decline slowly. On the other hand,
two countries, Italy and Portugal had almost similar trajectory.
Among the four countries, United kingdom always on the top throughout the time span where following
highest emitted country Sweden exhibited oscillation. At the beginning till 1987, Sweden was the second
largest emitter and after then the emission per individual become lower than Italy. In contrast, the Italy
and Portugal showed similar pattern, however, Italy showed more fluctuation rather than Portugal.
In conclusion, there are different carbon di-oxide emission across the different countries, at the end
Sweden and Portugal exhibited same amount of CO2 extraction per individual, however both have
opposite trend. On top of that, Italy showed a slight escalation at the end of the period.
