Welcome Message
It gives us immense pleasure to announce the AIIMS Rishikesh
Conference on Simulation in Healthcare (ARCSIM 2025), which will be
th th
held from 15 to 17 April 2025.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, is

an Institute of National Importance practising
Simulation-Based Education in undergraduate and
postgraduate Medical and Nursing Courses and for
capacity building of Health Professionals in patient
care. Teaching learning through Simulation has
been brought to mainstream education and
curriculum at AIIMS Rishikesh, facilitating an experiential learning
strategy.

Simulation facilities can help to move from the traditional "See One, Do
One, Teach One" skill teaching method towards a better evolved
contemporary process of "See One, Practice Many, Do One". The theme of
this conference is “Optimising Technique and Technology in Medical
Simulation” to focus and deliberate on the present status of Health care
simulation and explore potentials and selection of feasible and most
appropriate options for simulation. Experts across various disciplines
would share interesting, informative, and innovative evidence on
technology-dependent and technology-independent as well as hybrid
simulation in medical education during the conference.

Highlights of this conference include pre- and post-conference

workshops by experts in the field to facilitate quality learning experiences
for participants. Faculty, Residents, and Medical Educationists would
surely benefit by attending these hands-on workshops.

We invite you to participate in ARCSIM 2025 to gather an immersive

learning experience in the Yoga Capital of the World. We look forward to
your presence in the most pleasant and fascinating season of spring from
th th
. to 17 April 2025 at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India.

Executive Director & CEO
AIIMS, Rishikesh 01
About AIIMS Rishikesh
Nestled in the serene beauty of the Himalayas and near the sacred
Ganges, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh
is strategically established to address regional healthcare
disparities. Inaugurated under the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri
Swasthya Suraksha Yojna, AIIMS Rishikesh became an autonomous
institution following the All India Institute of Medical Sciences
(Amendment) Bill, 2012.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, patient-centred

healthcare services that are effective, efficient, accessible,
acceptable, equitable, and prioritize safety. AIIMS Rishikesh offers a
diverse range of Medical, Nursing, and Allied courses. Over 200
faculty members mentor these activities.

We prioritize evidence-based practices in every facet of care,

ensuring our clinical decisions and treatments are grounded in the
latest scientific advancements. Through this holistic approach, we
contribute to national healthcare goals while shaping the future of
medical education and research.

02
Advanced Center of Medical
Simulation and Skills
Was conceived with the goal to evolve as a Center of Excellence
equipped with state-of-the-art Simulation facilities. It is a
comprehensive set-up and provides an immersive learning
experience facilitated through an experiential learning strategy
without the risk of harm to patients. The uniqueness of the
Simulation Centre at AIIMS Rishikesh is its functioning as a central
unit facilitates utilization to its maximum potential.

The Simulation lab at AIIMS Rishikesh promotes learner-centric

education and is utilized for regular teaching-learning, assessment
of medical and nursing undergraduates and postgraduates, skill
enhancement/capacity building workshops and research-related
work. The facility supports the Nodal training site of the American
Heart Association (AHA) for Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Nodal Center for Advanced
Trauma Life Support (ATLS) & Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses
(ATCN) and social outreach activities.

03
Theme of Conference
In the last few decades, the world has witnessed a paradigm shift in the
method of skill acquisition through simulation, which is a step prior to
dealing with real patients. The changing trend in simulation from low to
medium to high-tech simulators and from physical to computer-based
mixed reality to virtual desktop simulation reflects a major influence of
technology. Simulation in health care through technology-driven,
technology-dependent, and technology-independent methods is a
contemporary concept that facilitates realism. Techniques of hybrid
simulation also offer an elevated level of realism.

The theme of this year’s ARCSIM 2025 is "Optimising Technique and

Technology in Medical Simulation," to focus on refining simulation-based
training methods and to meet the evolving needs of healthcare more
judiciously. High-tech simulators based on advanced technologies can
provide unparalleled learning experiences, especially in high-stakes and
critical clinical conditions. Cost factors and accessibility to a good
simulation set-up are major challenges that limit optimal potential use.
This problem could be addressed by balancing the use of technology
and choosing alternative techniques that offer enhanced realism.

ARCSIM 2025 may serve as a catalyst to generate interest and focus on

improvisation of methods to make the best use of available resources,
select appropriate simulation methods, and design training programs
catering to the diverse needs of healthcare.

Experience Rishikesh
Ganga Aarti and Parmarth Niketan
Located at the banks of the Ganga river,
Parmarth Niketan Ashram is cluttered
with devotees and tourists for Ganga Aarti
in Rishikesh. With devotees and tourists
sitting on the staircases, facing the
majestic Ganga and setting sun with all
the pandits prepping for evening aarti is a
view to behold. But as the Aarti starts, the
vibe of this ghat is something only to be
experienced.

Ram Jhula
Another famous landmark in Rishikesh
city is Ram Jhula, an iron suspension
bridge connecting Sivananda Ashram
with Swargashram. A bit smaller and less
crowded than Lakshman Jhula, Ram
Jhula is the perfect spot to dip your feet in
the river and relax while absorbing the
bustling beauty of the city.

Triveni Ghat
Triveni Ghat is considered a sacred site
where the Ganges River is at its purest.
Pilgrims believe that taking a dip in the
holy waters at Triveni Ghat purifies the
soul and washes away sins. It is also
believed that the confluence of the three
holy rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, and
Saraswati - makes this spot extremely
auspicious.

Experience Rishikesh
Beatles Ashram
Also known as Chaurasi Kutia, Beatles Ashram
was a hub for students of Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi, who invented the Transcendental
meditation technique and was also visited by
the famous rock band ‘The Beatles’. The entire
site was abandoned and converted by the local
forestry department into a home to some of the
most beautiful graffiti.

Cafe Hopping at Lakshman Jhula:

Set amidst peace and tranquillity,
Rishikesh has a variety of cafes ready to
serve you the best dishes in town.
Delegates at ARCSIM can experience the
ambiance and explore the unique
cuisines at these cafes set around
Lakshman Jhula. Cafes will be suggested
to the delegates where they can enjoy
dinners with the “Rishikesh-vibe” and buy
souvenirs from the adjoining markets.

Kunjapuri Devi Temple

One of the most revered Shakti Peeths of
Goddess Shakti in the Garhwal Himalayas.
The beauty of this place is that you can
see snow-clad white Himalayas and river
Ganga from the same peak. The place is
popular for its beautiful sunrise view with
the Sun rising from behind the Himalayan
peaks
