ABOUND IN HOPE
We have a faith that overrides and supercedes any organization, any event, any circum-
stance, or any difficult dilemma Satan would try to employ against us. He may be the “god
of this world,” but we have spiritual weapons so powerful that we can shoot him down every
time he shows up uninvited. May these verses stir you up and ignite a fire inside of you as
you meditate on them. – Rick Renner
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what
is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the common-
wealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no
hope, and without God in the world. – Ephesians 2:12
According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be
ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magni-
fied in my body, whether by life or by death. – Philippians 1:20 (NKJV)

ance. – Romans 8:25 (NKJV)
Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping....
– Romans 4:18 (NLT)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. – Hebrews 11:1

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
– Romans 10:17
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory
that overcometh the world, even our faith. – 1 John 5:4
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pull-
ing down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity
every thought to the obedience of Christ.
– 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt
hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. 3 Blessed shalt thou be in the
city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy
body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of
thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy
store. 6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou
be when thou goest out. 7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up
against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee
one way, and flee before thee seven ways. 8 The LORD shall command the
blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand
unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
– Deuteronomy 28:2-8

us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against
us? – Romans 8:31
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take
unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the
evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above
all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints. – Ephesians 6:10-18
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faith-

no pleasure in him. – Hebrews 10:38
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things
which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
– Hebrews 11:1-3
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
him. – Hebrews 11:6
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that
shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage
of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the
LORD. – Isaiah 54:17
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,
saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my
ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as
the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thith-
er, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may
give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that
goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall ac-
complish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent
it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the moun-
tains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees
of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the
fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall
be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
– Isaiah 55:8-13

you. – James 4:7

give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
– John 14:27
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it
shall be done unto you. – John 15:7
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt med-
itate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all
that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and
then thou shalt have good success. – Joshua 1:8

all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
– Luke 10:19
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things
soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall
have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against
any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespass-
es. – Mark 11:23-25
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat,
or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the
life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the
air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your
heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which
of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why
take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Sol-
omon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God
so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into
the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 There-
fore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gen-
tiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these
things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for
the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Suffi-
cient unto the day is the evil thereof. – Matthew 6:25-34
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace
of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
– Proverbs 16:3
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in
green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my
soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea,
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou pre-
parest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest
my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for
ever. – Psalm 23
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my
flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see
thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 3 Because
thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I
bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 5 My soul shall be
satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with
joyful lips. – Psalm 63:1-5
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my
fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the
snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee
with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy
shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for
the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in dark-
ness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall
fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh
thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the
wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the
most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any
plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over
thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. – Psalm 91:1-11
