Class9 Triangles HighLevel Test

The document outlines a Class 9 Mathematics test focused on the topic of triangles, consisting of 10 problems related to triangle congruence and similarity. Each problem requires proof of various properties and relationships within triangles, such as congruence criteria and angle bisectors. The test is designed to assess students' understanding of geometric principles in triangles, with a maximum score of 50 marks and a time limit of 1.5 hours.

Class 9 Mathematics Test

Chapter: Triangles (NCERT-Based) | Max Marks: 50 | Time: 1.5 Hours

1. In triangle ABC, AB = AC and D is a point on BC such that AD bisects angle BAC. Prove that

triangle ABD is congruent to triangle ACD.

2. Two sides AB and AC and median AM of one triangle ABC are respectively equal to sides PQ

and PR and median PN of triangle PQR. Prove that triangle ABC is congruent to triangle PQR.

3. In triangle ABC, D and E are midpoints of sides AB and AC respectively. Prove that triangle ADE

is congruent to triangle ABC if AD = AB/2 and AE = AC/2.

4. ABC is a triangle in which angle B = angle C. D and E are points on AB and AC such that BD =

CE and angle DBC = angle ECB. Prove that triangle DBC is congruent to triangle ECB.

5. Prove that the perpendicular bisectors of the sides of a triangle are concurrent.

6. In triangle PQR, PR = QR and M is a point on PQ such that PM = MQ. Prove that triangle PRM is

congruent to triangle QRM.

7. D and E are points on side AB and AC of triangle ABC such that DE is parallel to BC. Prove that

triangle ADE is similar to triangle ABC and use it to prove that AB/AD = AC/AE.

8. In triangle ABC, AB = AC and the bisector of angle A meets BC at point D. Prove that triangle

ABD is congruent to triangle ACD and hence angle DAB = DAC.

9. Triangle XYZ is right-angled at Y and XY = YZ. Prove that angle X = angle Z and triangle XYZ is

an isosceles right triangle.

10. Prove that two triangles are congruent if two angles and the included side of one triangle are

equal to the corresponding two angles and the included side of another triangle (ASA congruency).
