Safety

WARNING: In addition to the warnings listed above, follow all safety guidelines as described in the
Safety Manual. Failure to do so can result in severe personal injury.

Installation and Environment

Except for installations requiring certification by the manufacturer, see that a radiation protection survey is made by a qualified expert
in accordance with NCRP 102, section 7, as revised. Perform a survey after every change in equipment, workload, or operating
conditions which might significantly increase the probability of persons receiving more than the maximum permissible dose
equivalent.

Diagnostic Imaging Systems - Mechanical-electrical Warning

WARNING: Before initiating a movement of the patient table or gantry, ensure that the area is free of
obstructions such as tools, boxes, chairs, and step stools. Physical injury or damage can
occur.
All of the moveable assemblies and parts of this equipment should be operated with care and routinely inspected in accordance with the
manufacturer’s recommendations contained in the equipment manuals.
Only properly trained and qualified personnel should be permitted access to any internal parts. Live electrical terminals are deadly; be
sure line disconnects are opened and other appropriate precautions are taken before opening access doors, removing enclosure
panels, or attaching accessories.

Do not under any circumstances remove the flexible high tension cables from the x-ray tube housing or high tension generator and/or
the access covers from the generator until the main and auxiliary power supplies have been disconnected. Failure to comply with the
above may result in serious or fatal bodily injuries to the operator or those in the area.

Prior to any service and maintenance activities inside components:

• Switch off the system at the main power supply, and the uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
• Make sure that no other person can switch on power or switch off any safety measures, when installation, maintenance or service
work on the system is performed.

• Always use an ESD protection wrist strap when servicing any component in the system.

Electrical-grounding Instructions
The equipment must be grounded to an earth ground by a separate conductor. The neutral side of the line is not to be considered the
earth ground. On equipment provided with a line cord, the equipment must be connected to a properly grounded, three-pin
receptacle. Do not use a three-to-two pin adapter.

Diagnostic Imaging Systems - Radiation Warning

X-ray and Gamma-rays are dangerous to both operator and others in the vicinity unless established safe exposure procedures are
strictly observed.

The useful and scattered beams can produce serious or fatal bodily injuries to any persons in the surrounding area if used by an
unskilled operator. Adequate precautions must always be taken to avoid exposure to the useful beam, as well as to leakage radiation
from within the source housing or to scattered radiation resulting from the passage of radiation through matter.

Those authorized to operate, participate in or supervise the operation of the equipment must be thoroughly familiar and comply
completely with the current established safe exposure factors and procedures described in publications, such as: Subchapter J of Title
21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, "Diagnostic X-ray Systems and Their Major Components", and the national council on radiation
protection (NCRP) no. 102, "Medical X-ray And Gamma-ray Protection For Energies Up To 10 Mev-equipment Design and Use".

Those responsible for planning of x-ray and gamma-ray equipment installations must be thoroughly familiar and comply completely
with NCRP no. 49, "Structural Shielding Design and Evaluation for Medical of X-rays and Gamma-rays of Energies Up to 10 Mev".
Failure to observe these warnings may cause serious or fatal bodily injuries to the operator or those in the area.

This manual defines the installation procedures applied to the Incisive CT system. Ensure that all steps
described in the PRD are completed before system installation.
.

Only certified CT Engineers and authorized distributors shall install the Incisive CT scanner. FSE and
specialists trained on the Incisive CT scanner will be able to perform a complete system [Link]
will correct and evaluate the system if any installation is failure.
Before the installation, a Service Engineer, a Hospital’s facility representative and a local Philips Project
Manager are required to inspect the site. The site layout and environmental specifications are provided in
the site planning drawings. All materials necessary for the installation are included with the scanner.

1.1 How this Manual is Organized

This installation manual is organized in the order of procedures necessary to install the Incisive CT
scanner. This manual complies with Philips Healthcare service documentation format. Its landscape
format is intended for easy viewing on the Field Service Engineer’s computer. In addition to the
bookmarks displayed in Acrobat Reader, the user can take advantage of the Table of Contents in the
beginning of the manual. These navigation tools enable the FSE to find the necessary information quickly.

1.2 Safety

Note: Before you start the installation you must read and understand all guidelines in the Incisive CT Safety
manual.

WARNING: Improper mechanical installation can lead to serious injury and even death.

WARNING: Maximum Load for Patient Support is 205Kg and the maximum load for patient support
remains no change with patient support top extension mounted.

WARNING: Electrical Hazard! Take care when installing cables for the wall box.

!
WARNING: Before installing Dollies, Inspect and verify the dollies are OK for use. Do not use a damaged
dolly. Be ware of the mechanical hazard when operating the dollies. Operate the dollies with
care to avoid getting [Link] and Mechanical Hazard when using Dolly Tools and
pay attention to use these tools to avoid getting injury.

cause damage.

Estimated time for each installation operation is included. The total estimated time (not including pre-
installation tasks) is 3 days.

Note: The total estimated time to install includes the activities listed in the table below. Make sure that before

2.1 Unpacking the Accessories

Unpack the Accessories crate as follows:
1. Release the clamps that secure the packing crate top and carefully remove it (see Figure 2-1).

2. Release the clamps that secure the front or rear cover.

3. If the pre-installation is not prepared, take out the Installation Template (see Figure 2-2) and the Fix
Tools Box to drill the anchor hole for installation.

Make sure the label is no damaged and vibration label is white on the package of Gantry.

2.2.1 Unpacking the Patient Support

Unpack the Patient Support as follows:

Note: Keep the Top Cover, it will be used as a ramp to lower the Patient Support to the floor.
1. Use a screwdriver to release and remove the clamps that secure the shipping crate top cover(see
Figure 2-4 on page 32).

WARNING: Take all necessary safety precautions when opening the crate. Use safety equipment such as
gloves, reinforced shoes, etc.

2. Put the top cover of Patient Support Package in front of the Patient Support and keep space for
removing plate (see Figure 2-5).

3. Release and remove the shipping crate panel one by one.

Recommend order: Front--->Left Side-->Right Side->Rear
4. Store the removed panels in a safe place away from the Patient Support.
5. Remove the anti-static wrapping.

2.3 Transporting the Patient Support

1. Unpack the Plinth Cover and Patient Support extension bar (see Figure 2-6).

5. Remove the Rear Bottom Cover.

6. Release the 2 screws which secure the Front Bottom Cover to the Patient table(see Figure 2-10), and
keep them for later use.

7. Assemble the Transport Dollies to the Patient Support.

a. Remove the four screws on the rear bottom of Patient Support, and keep them for later use (see
Figure 2-11).

b. Install the extension bars on the rear bottom with six screws (see Figure 2-12).

8. Align the hole in the Transport Dolly with the screw in the extension bar, and screw out the screw till
its head aligns with the outer surface of the hole (see Figure 2-13).

9. Repeat the same procedure for both rear ends of the Patient Support.
10. Use the handles to move the Patient Support transport wheels to touch the bottom plate.
11. Release four nuts (two on each side) that secure the Patient Support to the pallet (See Figure 2-14 and
Figure 2-15).
a. Remove the two nuts in the rear of the Patient Support.

b. In the front of the Patient Support, remove the bottom screw of the baffle and then release the nut
on each side (see Figure 2-15).

12. Align the hole in the Transport Dolly with the screw in the front of the Patient Support Base, and
screw out the screw till its head aligns with the outer surface of the hole (see Figure 2-16).

14. Align the wheels with the ramp (see Figure 2-17), and raise the Patient Table with the dollies.

15. Position the top cover of the packing crate as a slideway so that it serves as a ramp for unloading the
Patient Support and carefully roll the Patient Support off the pallet (see Figure 2-18).

16. Transport the Patient Support to the CT scanner room.
17. Do not remove the transport dollies yet.

2.4 Remove the Patient Support Transportation Bar

1. Remove the Transportation Bar (see Figure 2-19).

2. Install the metal covers on the hole of Transportation Bar and keep Transportation Bar on site.

3.1 Site Preparation Requirements

Before the planned delivery date, prepare the site according to the details in Site Inspection Check List
and Layout Information.

3.2 Required Tools

The following tools and materials are needed to mark the holes with the Installation Template and drill
anchoring holes:

3.3 Positioning the Installation Template

1. Make sure floor area is clean and flat, before placing the Gantry and Patient Support drilling
templates on the floor surface.
2. Position the Installation Template on the floor (see Figure 3-1).

3. Align the Gantry template and Patient Support template by the three circles, and stick the template to
floor (see Figure 3-2).

4. Measure the distances according to (see Figure 3-3) to make sure the Template is aligned correctly.

5. Mark the circles with an indelible marker pen, and punch a hole to start each anchor holes (see
Figure 3-4).

3.4 Drilling the Gantry and Patient Support Anchor

Holes
1. Before drilling the holes, prepare a vacuum cleaner to clean the dust produced by drilling.
2. Drill the anchor holes according to the mark position.
3. Drill a little and while drilling, keep the drill bit perpendicular to the ground (see Figure 3-4). Use the
vacuum cleaner while drilling to avoid dust.

4. Remove the Transport bar from Patient Support. Refer to Remove the Patient Support Transportation
Bar on page 45.

5. Align hole of transport Bar to hole of Template and then drill the holes (see Figure 3-6).

6. For the Gantry, drill the 8 anchor holes to a depth of 105mm with a 16x200mm drill bit.
7. For the Patient Support, drill the 6 anchor holes to a depth 105mm with a 16x200mm drill bit.

CAUTION: It is extremely important to drill the holes in the exact positions where they are marked. If
they are not located correctly, it will be difficult to align the Gantry or Patient Support with
the floor anchors.
8. Remove the transport bar and put it in a safe place.

9. Remove drilling debris with a blowout bulb or with compressed air (see Figure 3-7). Vacuum the dust
from the inside of the holes and the surrounding area. The holes and surrounding area must be as free
of concrete dust as possible.

3.5 Installing the Concrete Floor Anchors

CAUTION: Both the Gantry and the Patient Support must be securely anchored to the floor with bolts.

Notes: The installation materials included with the Incisive CT system are for anchoring the Gantry to a floor made of
concrete.
• To anchor to other types of floors, purchase the appropriate installation materials locally.
• The anchors for the Gantry and Patient Support are for 1/2”-12mm bolts.
1. Insert the anchors supplied with the system into the anchor holes for the Gantry.
2. Beat the anchors into the holes with hammer so that the expansion pipes are about 7mm below the
ground(see Figure 3-8).

3. Remove the screw, nut, flat washer and spring washer.

4. Vacuum the dust from the inside of the holes and the surrounding area. The holes and surrounding
area must be as free of concrete dust as possible.
5. Insert the anchors supplied with the system into the anchor holes for the Patient Support.
6. Beat the anchors into the holes with hammer so that the expansion pipes are about 12mm below the
ground (see Figure 3-9).

7. Remove the screw, nut, flat washer and spring washer.

8. Vacuum the dust from the inside of the holes and the surrounding area. The holes and surrounding
area must be as free of concrete dust as possible.
9. Clean the scanner room floor thoroughly.
10. If all the Gantry cables need to be routed under the floor, cut a hole for the cables on the installation
template according to the Room Cable Layout. If the Gantry cables do not need to be placed under the
floor, just put the Installation Template over the anchor bolts.
11. Make sure that the Patient Support template is lined up with the Gantry template and then use the
adhesive tape on the Patient Support template to affix the template to the floor.

3.5.1 Recommendation for Subfloor Construction for

Installation Floor
The following diagram illustrates the recommended subfloor construction.

• A subfloor construction is required for the Gantry and for the Patient Table.
• Gantry and Patient Table may not be placed directly on the plates of the installation floor.
• Cut out the installation floor in the area of the installation support surface for the Gantry and Patient
Table, and use suitable material (e.g. steel plates) to provide flushed and non-positive compensation.
• For earthquake-prone regions that require the Gantry to be secured to the floor, the same
requirements as for the Patient Table are in effect.
• The subfloor construction (between Gantry and concrete floor) must be made of steel only.

4.2.3 Unloading the Gantry

Unload the Gantry from the truck by forklift with an extension arm and then place it on the aisle that
leads to the scanner room on the same floor level.

Forklift Specifications
The forklift must be able to lift a load of at least 3000 kg and able to balance a load that is 2.4 M long with
center of gravity at midpoint when uploading the crate from the truck and transporting it.
Fork specifications:
• max.184mm wide by 57mm high
• minimum 1524mm length
• Both forks must spread 610 mm apart (center to center)

CAUTION: If there is an incline exceeding 5° or if there are steps on the aisle, the Gantry must be
unloaded with its packing box onto the aisle or steps.

4.2.4 Unpacking the Gantry

CAUTION: Do not leave the gantry outdoors unpacked for longer than 1 hour. Expedite unpacking and
immediately deliver the gantry to a room with stable temperatures, as described in the PRD
document.

2. Use a screwdriver to release and remove the clamps that secure the shipping crate top cover(see

Note: When the system has been stored in a cold area with high humility for a period, condensation can cause
damage to the system, which can harm the gantry electronics. Leave the system unpacked for a few hours
so that the system can adapt the room temperature and the moist (water) will condensate on the packing
and NOT in the system.

10. Press to open the Gantry Power Switch door and use it as a handle to lift and remove the Gantry right
Column Cover (see Figure 4-8).

4.2.5 Attaching the Gantry Transport Dollies

1. There are two bolts on each side of the Gantry that secure the shipping brackets to the package.
Release all the nuts and washers (see Figure 4-9).

2. Push the bolts down. The Gantry is now released from the pallet.

3. Insert the 4 Gantry transport dollies to the both sides of the Gantry (see Figure 4-10).

5. Install the securing bolts to secure the transport dollies to the Gantry.

WARNING: These securing bolts MUST be used to secure the dollies firmly, otherwise they might get
loose during transportation which is dangerous for the FSEs and the system.
6. Rotate the hand wheels of the transport dollies clockwise to raise the Gantry.

7. Continue rotating all four wheels clockwise to raise the Gantry with the transport dollies until it
clears the pallet (see Figure 4-12).

WARNING: Rotate the hand wheels of all four dollies alternately and evenly so that the Gantry stays
upright and does not lean to a side.
8. Remove the pallet and verify that the bottom frame is clean.
9. Rotate the hand wheels counter-clockwise to lower the Gantry until the Gantry base is approximately
15 mm above the floor (see Figure 4-13).

WARNING: Crush hazard. Minimize the clearance between the Gantry base and the floor when
transporting the Gantry. This will prevent excess stress on the jack screws and reduce the
possibility of tipping the Gantry. Failure to comply may result in serious injury or death to
service personnel.

10. Now the Gantry is ready for transport. Push on the solid surfaces in the lower half of the Gantry to
move it (see Figure 4-14).

4.2.6 Transporting the Gantry

Transporting Guidelines
Transport the Gantry as follows:
• Ensure that the floor load for the transport path as well as the installation rooms has been checked or
certified by a structural engineer prior to the installation. Installation floors must be laid out to
support a load of min. 400 kg/plate. During transport of the Gantry, higher loads can occur at
individual points (3-point load, e.g., if the floor is not level). Cover the transport path with metal sheet
or equivalent to distribute the floor load.
• Use the rollers of the transport dollies to move the Gantry to the installation location.
• Turn the rollers of the transport dollies in the direction that the Gantry is to be moved towards.
• To avoid damage, do not move the transport dollies over obstructions.
• Do not transport the Gantry over uneven flooring. Hard bumps against the Gantry can damage its
sensitive parts (e.g. ball bearings).
• To minimize the danger of toppling, do not raise the Gantry more than 15 mm above the floor during
transportation.
• The transport passage must be smooth and level due to the required minimal floor clearance of the
Gantry.

CAUTION: Move the Gantry by exerting pressure only on the transport dollies or the steel columns of
the Gantry. Do not exert any pressure on the covers or on any of the electronic boards in the
columns.

Note: Make sure that the anchoring holes for the Gantry have been drilled before you transport the Gantry into
the room. See section Section 3: Drilling the Anchoring Holes on page 46 or refer to the PRD documents
for necessary information.

Transporting the Gantry through Doors and Hallways

The Gantry with the dolly assembly provided by Philips will fit through a standard 2000mm door height.

Note: The Dollies have hard plastic wheels. Tiled floors should be protected with 6 MM thick tempered
masonite panels or an equivalent hard material.
For sites that do not meet minimum door height requirements, cover removal may be necessary. Refer to
Transporting the Gantry through Minimum Width Clearance on page 78.

Clearance
In some cases where passageways are too narrow to allow the Gantry to move, it may be necessary to
remove the Gantry covers. Refer to Incisive CT Gantry Repair and Replacement instructions.

4.4 Optional: Isolation Transformer

Philips supplies one type of Isolation Transformer for Incisive CT.

1. Cut the package belts.
2. Release the screws that secure the left plate, right plate and the top cover (see Figure 4-15).

4. Take outstow-wood (2PCS) from the bottom of Isolation Transformer and put them under front plate.
Take outshock absorber EPE on the front plate. Remove the quakeproof bracket on both sides. Push
out he cabinet along the from plate (see Figure 4-17).

5. Remove the file bag plastic film and the dryer. Move the cabinet to the installation location and install
the quakeproof bracket to the cabinet with the screws. Fix it to the floor (see Figure 4-18).

5.1 Positioning the Gantry

1. Align the Gantry with the anchor holes on the ground.
2. When the Gantry is over the anchor, slowly lower the Gantry to the floor; evenly rotate the Dolly
hand wheel counterclockwise to maintain the Gantry in a level position when Gantry is being
lowered.

WARNING: Pinch Hazard! Use caution when lowering the Gantry to the floor. Feet can be caught
between the Gantry and the floor. Failure to comply may result in serious injury to service
personnel.
3. Install the insulation covering and anchor bolt in each anchor hole (do not tighten).

Note: Do not remove the transport dollies; the Gantry still needs to be leveled.
4. Open the Gantry Front Cover in order to check Gantry later.

5.2 Positioning the Patient Support

Notes: Before you start this procedure:

• The Gantry should be in position before you begin these steps. The front and rear Gantry anchor bolts must be
partially threaded into the floor anchors.
• Anchor holes for the Patient Support have already been drilled and the anchor bolts put in place (Drilling the
Gantry and Patient Support Anchor Holes on page 52).
1. Position the Patient Support according to the anchor holes.
2. When the Patient Support is positioned over the anchor locations, lower the Patient Support front and
rear synchronously to the floor over the template.
3. Install the insulation covering and anchor bolt on each of the two rear anchors (do not tighten).

4. Remove the one screw on the baffle, and install the insulation covering and anchor bolt on each of the
two front anchors (do not tighten).

5.2.1 Leveling the Gantry

WARNING: Pinch Hazard! Use extreme caution when lowering the Gantry to the floor. Keep extremities
away from the Gantry Base until the weight of the Gantry rests completely on the floor.
Fingers can be caught in close clearances between the screw jacks, Gantry, and floor. Failure
to comply may result in serious injury to service personnel.

Note: Do not attempt to level the Gantry until the eight anchor bolts are installed.
The Gantry should be still on the transport dollies, but lowered to the floor. Follow the instructions below
to level the Gantry in both X and Z directions.
1. Find the spirit level bracket from the accessories crate.

2. Remove the three bolts that secure the transport bracket on each side of the Gantry, and remove the
transport bracket.

3. Use one of the bolts that secures the transport bracket to install the spirit level bracket on the left side
of the Gantry.

4. Place the spirit level on the bracket in X direction, and check if the bubble in the spirit level is in the
middle of the bubble tube.

8. Repeat Step 3 on page 87 through Step 7 on page 89 on the right side of the Gantry.

Adding Shims
The Gantry has to be leveled in both X and Z directions. If needed shim plates are placed over the Gantry
anchor bolts, under the Installation Template, to fill a gap when the Gantry is lowered to the floor.
1. If the Gantry is not leveled, adjust the Dolly to level the Gantry.
2. Place the shim under the Gantry at the appropriate anchoring point (see Figure 5-7).

3. Lower the Gantry to the floor so that the base rests on the shims on the floor.
4. Check the Gantry levelness in both X and Z directions with spirit level. Add or remove the shim if
needed. Repeat Step 1 on page 90 to Step 3 on page 91 (if necessary) until the Gantry is level.

5.2.2 Final Anchoring of the Gantry

1. If the Gantry is leveled and the columns are parallel, remove the securing bolts that secure the
transport dollies to the Gantry on both sides (see Figure 5-9).

2. Remove the transport dollies.

3. Tighten the eight Gantry anchoring bolts to a torque of 30 N.m (22 ft-lb).

1. Push the Patient Support top inwards to expose the plates.
2. Place the spirit level bracket on the horizontal guide rail of the Patient Support.

3. Place the spirit level on the bracket in X direction, and check if the bubble in the spirit level is in the
middle of the bubble tube.

6.1 Equipment Isolation

The CT system equipment components shall be insulated from grounding of hospital building.
Only isolated ground wires from the facility power source or power conditioner shall provide proper
grounding to the CT system, assuring safety and ground quality in compliance with country and local
codes.
1. Before any connections are made to the Gantry, check resistance from System GND to anchors with a
multimeter to the scanner safety GND (green/yellow conductors) to Hospital building grounding.
• Test for Gantry: from Gantry GND to 8 Gantry anchors respectively.

• Test for Patient Support: from Patient Support GND to 6 Patient Support anchors.
2. Record the measured value.
3. Resistance should be >100K Ω.

IMPORTANT: Record the measured resistance in the Incisive CT Installation and Acceptance Test
Documents.
4. If no power or ground is connected to the system, you should have total isolation from facility. This
can be measured by using the procedure. If not, you may have a Gantry anchor bolt touching building
steel.

6.1.1 Protective Earth (Ground) System Measurements

1. Open the Front cover. Refer to the Incisive CT Gantry Repair and Replacement instructions.

WARNING: Hazardous voltages inside wall box. Use extreme caution when doing ground tests
originating from the inside of the wall box. Failure to comply can result in serious injury or
death to service personnel.
Test to ensure the connection integrity of protective earth (ground) within the CT SYSTEM.
Before beginning ground testing,
1. Make sure that the equipment isolation check is completed.
2. Verify there is no power to the CT System.
3. Lockout the wall box.
4. Remove external power from Host.
5. Make sure that all CT SYSTEM components are connected, by visual inspection.
6. Make sure that all grounding cables are installed firmly, by visual inspection.
7. Make sure that the special multimeter leads are long enough to reach the farthest test points.

Setup
• Measuring device (Volt/ohm multimeter) set to most accurate range for measuring low voltages.
Condition: Current for Gantry is 150A and Current for Patient Support and Console is 40A. Frequency is
50 HZ.

• Short leads together and measure resistance
• Record lead resistance as value (B) in Table 6-1 on page 102

6.3 Ensuring Air-conditioning Readiness

Ensure that the air-conditioner power supply is connected and tested before the system start-up. Refer to
the Philips PRD for scanner room temperature specifications.

6.4 Checking the Rotating Frame

1. Verify the Gantry rotor locking pin is out.
2. With Gantry front cover opened, slowly rotate the Rotor 2 or 3 rotations clockwise.

CAUTION: Turn the Rotor clockwise only.
3. Listen to any noise that may indicate friction between components or loose parts.
4. Check and verify that all components on the rotating frame are tightened securely. Secure any loose
components/connections if necessary.
5. Check that all the cables are tie-wrapped.

WARNING: Ensure that there is no power to the system.

WARNING: Rotate the Rotor carefully. There are many sharp protrusions and close clearances on the
rotating frame that may cause injury to personnel.

6.5 System Power Up

WARNING: During this procedure hazardous voltages are applied to the system.

6.5.1 Checking the Emergency Stop Switches

There are five emergency stop switches on the system:
• One on the CT BOX
• Two on the Gantry Front Control Panels (left front/right front)
• Two on the gantry frame.

Note: The two emergency stop switches on the gantry frame are for FSEs only, which are not connected after
service. When FSEs open the front cover, connect the cables to the emergency stop switches on the gantry
frame.
Pushing any one of the emergency switches will disengage power to the Gantry stator, patient support
and console. There is still power alive on the Gantry Rotor. Check if the emergency stop switches are
working correctly before the Gantry is powered up.
To check the emergency stop switch, press the emergency stop switch down.
To release the switch, press the switch again.
Repeat this check on the three switches (one on the CT Box and two on the Gantry Front Control Panels).

6.5.2 Verifying Output Power Voltage

WARNING: Electrical Hazard! Before switching power of your system On, make sure that it is wired
appropriately to your country’s power supply.

WARNING: Do not power up the Gantry. Leave the breakers on the Gantry, QF 102-QF 107 off.

WARNING: The Gantry power switch does not totally remove the power from the slip ring.
Measure output power voltage on the power terminal X100 (internal cable connections) as follows:
1. Turn ON the Wall Power Box, or Isolation Transformer.

6.6 Checking Manual Rotation and Tilt

Check the manual rotation as follows:
1. On the Gantry Left Column, switch the Manual/Auto Switch to (Manual).
2. Check the manual Gantry Rotation and Tilt motions with the Switch.
3. Switch the Manual/Auto Switch to (Automatic).
4. Lower the Patient table to the lowest position.
5. Turn OFF the Gantry power ON/OFF switch.
6. Turn OFF the Wall box.

Note: It is normal that when the speed of rotation is to the lowest limitation, the Gantry could be wobbling a
little bit at this very low speed.

7.1 Closing Gantry Front Cover

1. Disconnect the cables connected to the emergency stop switches on the gantry frame and connect
them to the emergency stop switches on the Gantry Front Control Panels.
2. Make sure all rotor cables and parts are properly secured.
3. Hold and pull down the Front Cover from the bottom side. Hold firmly the Front Cover when it is
almost closed to prevent the cover from sudden falling back.
4. Release the Front Cover latch by turning it for another 90 degree. Gently push the Front Cover back
until the latch falls into the striking plate. Do this at both sides. Gently push at the bottom edge of
Front Cover to get it aligned with the sub-front cover.

CAUTION: Remove plastic protectors of ventilation on Gantry Covers (see Figure 7-1).

7.2 Installing Gantry Column Covers

CAUTION: Pay attention to collision for the Gantry Switches.
1. Lift the Gantry Column Cover to align the Gantry Frame.
2. Install two screws that secure the Gantry Column Cover.
3. Install two plastic caps on the screw holes.

7.3 Installing Gantry Left/Right Bottom Covers

1. Align the Left/Right Bottom Covers to the Gantry.
2. Install four screws that secure the Left/Right Bottom Covers.

CAUTION: When you install the Gantry Left/Right Bottom Covers, avoid to make scrape for other
covers.
3. Put the rubber caps on the screw holes.

7.4 Installing Gantry Mylar

1. Insert the Gantry Mylar into the Front Cover. It must fit with nothing more than mild pushing.

Note: There are two joints in the mylar. The mylar shall be installed in such a way that the middle of the two joints shall be
at 12 oʹclock position.
2. If the cover and Mylar can not be replaced in their original location, you may be required to re-adjust
upper side covers, lower Front Cover and the Rear Cover.

7.5 Ensuring Safety Measures

WARNING: Electrical hazard! Before switching On power to the system, make sure that it is
appropriately wired to your country’s power supply.
The following safety measures must be verified prior to system operation:

• The CT Scanner Room has been cleaned
• Air Conditioning is turned on
• Power On Wall box/Power Conditioner
• Power On the Gantry.

7.5.1 Checking the Emergency Stop Switches

There are five emergency stop switches that turn OFF all power to the system:
• One on the CT BOX
• Two on the Gantry Front Control Panels (left front/right front)
• Two on the gantry frame.

Note: The two emergency stop switches on the Gantry frame are not connected since the front cover is closed.

Check the three emergency stop switches (one on the CT BOX and two on the Gantry Front Control
Panels) as follows:
1. Press an emergency stop switch and make sure that the Gantry power is turned Off.
2. Release the switch by pressing the same button again.
3. Power on the Gantry again using Gantry power ON/OFF switch.
4. Repeat the above steps for the three switches.

7.5.2 Checking the Door Contact Switch

If a door switch was installed, perform this test to check whether the switch interrupts radiation when the
door is opened after powering on.
1. Select any spiral protocol with radiation.
2. Click Scan.
3. Open the scanner room door that has the switch installed.
4. The switch passes the test if the scan stops immediately and an appropriate message appears on the
screen.

7.5.3 Checking the Gantry Fans

Note: The Gantry Fans operation is controlled by the Gantry temperature detection mechanism. The Gantry
fans start turning when the temperature inside the Gantry reaches a certain level. It is normal if the
Gantry fans do not work when the Gantry power is just turned ON. Leave the Gantry Power ON and
check the fans start to turn when the Gantry temperature rises high enough.
1. Hold a sheet of paper over the exhaust openings at the top of the Gantry to monitor air flow.
2. Air being pushed out of the Gantry indicates proper functioning of the fans.
3. Check the Tube heat Exchanger and heat Exchange flow and the bottom fans and the normal result is
that the wind is from bottom and to the up side.

7.5.4 Checking Movement from the Gantry Panel

Use the following procedure to check movements from the Gantry panel.
1. Verify that the movements are enabled (the virtual buttons on the Gantry panel are enabled).
2. Check all movements from the Gantry panel:
• Patient Support UP and DOWN
• Patient Support IN and OUT
• Markers on Gantry ON and OFF
• Gantry Tilt
All movements should be smooth and you should not hear any unusual noise.

Note: The virtual buttons in the Gantry panel are ON only when the corresponding movement is enabled. If the
virtual button is grayed out, the movement is disabled due to the collision envelope.

7.5.5 Checking Patient Support Movement from the CTBOX

Use the following procedure to check movements from the CTBOX panel.
1. Verify that the movements are enabled; the LEDs on the CTBOX panel are ON.
2. Check all movements from the CTBOX panel: UP and DOWN, IN and OUT.

9.1 Performing Software Calibrations

When the safety check is finished, perform software calibrations as follows:
1. Log on to the Windows as CT.
2. Double click Incisive CT host icon on the desktop.
3. Type in olevel_service and password.
4. Navigate to service icon->Advanced->System Calibration.
5. Perform all the calibrations.

Note: To ensure a high image quality before performing Air Calibrations and Acceptance Test, bring the system
to the nominal operating temperature and ensure that:
• All the Gantry covers are closed
• The DMS has been ON for at least 2 hours.

9.2 Final Patient Support Alignment and Anchoring

Note: The patient support must be sitting on the anchoring points and moved away from the anchoring points
during the alignment.
1. Raise the Patient Support to the approx center of the scan FOV.
2. Move the Patient Support Top into the Gantry scan aperture.
3. Log on to the Application Software.
4. Navigate to Head->Reference->Brain Axial 2D->HFS and then click Start Exam.

5. Check if the Patient Support Top image is in the center of the scan FOV (5 mm) and the edge of the
Patient Table Top image is parallel.

6. Repeat this procedure until the Carbon top is in the center of the scan FOV as requested.

7. Tighten the six anchoring screws of the Patient Support.

8. Remove the Patient Support extension bars.
9. Anchor the Patient Table as follows:
a. Tighten the six M12 X 55 bolts.
b. Torque all anchor bolts to 22 Ft./lbs (approximate 30 Nm).
c. Mount all the covers of Patient Support
10. Scan and check patient support is in the center position.

9.3 Check Laser Markers

Once the patient support is secured, check the laser markers. If the laser markers need to be adjusted,
perform the Laser Marker Calibration. Refer to the Incisive CT Calibration and Adjustment Instructions.

9.4 Final Patient Table Checks

9.4.1 Checking Gantry and Patient Table for Collision
Check for possible collision between the Patient Support and Gantry. Ensure that a collision does not
occur when the Patient Table is at different positions and the Gantry is tilted to different angles. Gantry
Tilt Angle Graph for the nominal Gantry tilt angles and corresponding Patient Table heights for clearance
without collision.
1. Adjust the height of the Patient Table position is between the height of 300 and 380.
2. Manually move the Patient Table Top into the Gantry aperture by the Control Panel.
3. Tilt the Gantry towards the Patient Table (negative). Motion automatically stops by the protection of
the Gantry tilt angle relative to Patient Table height.
4. When the Gantry can not tilt any further, raise the Patient Table a little higher.
5. Tilt the Gantry towards Patient Table. The Gantry can be tilted to a larger angle than last time.
6. Repeat the above steps when the patient position is between the height of 350 and 460 with the Gantry
titled back (positive).

WARNING: Collision hazard! During the gantry-patient table collision test make sure that there is no
possible contact of service person near the system.
Improper operation of the system can cause serious injury to service personnel.

9.4.2 Closing Patient Support Covers

1. Install the Patient Support Bottom Rear Cover. Refer to Incisive CT Patient Support Repair and
Replacement Instructions.
2. Install the Patient Support Bottom Front Cover. Refer to Incisive CT Patient Support Repair and
Replacement Instructions.
3. Check all the covers of the Patient Support, and make sure they are properly installed.
4. Install the Patient Support Mattress. The line on the Patient Support Mattress should be closer to the
rear of the Patient Support.

11.21.2 Certificate Menu

Contact the RA for Certificate Status

The RA provides a web service method that allows the PSA to periodically check on the health of its
installed certificate. The use case for this operation is to provide an automatic mechanism for the PSA to
request a new certificate in the unlikely event that the CA's certificate has been compromised. In this
scenario, all issued certificates will be revoked, effectively deactivating all PSA instances.
In order to recover from this disastrous scenario, the PSA can contact the RA to determine the "health" of
its certificate. The RA can instruct to PSA to uninstall its certificate and request a new one. In Automatic
mode, the PSA utilizes a configurable start count setting to control when the PSA contacts the RA. When
the number of application starts has been reached, the PSA will contact the RA to check the status of its
certificate.

11.21.3 Certificate Request Menu

The PKI Service only allows one active certificate request at a time, since the private key used to sign the
certificate request must be stored for later use. The PKI Client API provides a method to determine if a
certificate request is active and also to clear an active certificate request. The PKIFeatureDemo
automatically clears an active certificate request each time a certificate request menu option is activated. It
is possible to create an "orphaned" certificate request using the PKIFeatureDemo. An error is reported if
an attempt is made to submit an orphaned certificate request.
Also available on the certificate request menu is an option to clear the certificate request retry counter. The
PKI Service attempts to submit a failed certificate request at start for a configurable number of start
sequences and then give up if not successful. When the configured number of retries has occurred, the
PKI Service sends an event called CertificateRequestRetriesExhausted. The user can clear the retry
counter to have the PKI Service automatically submit certificate requests. The counter is automatically
reset upon successful certificate issuance.

11.22 LAN Config

This function of LAN Config Setting includes Local Setting, HIS/RIS Setting and PACS Setting.

11.22.1 Local Setting

This feature makes Incisive CT scanner as SCP Server. DICOM compatible devices can query or retrieve
images from CT scanner or send images to CT scanner.
1. Ask the hospital IT Administrator for the local settings or provide the default settings to the hospital:
Local AE, Storage Port, and Commit Port.
2. Click Local Setting.
3. Click Stop to type in the values provided by the Hospital IT Administrator, and click Start; or keep
the defaults.

4. Click OK.
5. You are prompted to restart the computer. Click OK.

11.22.2 HIS/RIS Setting

14.1 Microphone Check

Check if the microphone is OK for use. If not, replace the battery of microphone.

14.2 Performance and Acceptance Test

Since the system has been adjusted to optimum setting and has passed all quality assurance tests in the
factory prior to delivery, it is likely that test results are still within the tolerances during and after
installation procedure. To ensure that all parameters of the system are in the stated tolerances, perform
the Performance and Acceptance test before transferring it to the customer.

Section 17: Final Steps Before System Handover

Before handing the system over to the customer:

• Pull all tools away.
• Leave the site clean and orderly.
• Ensure that no one is in the scanner room.
• Run a few scans to see that the system functions properly.
• If old/removed component is not returned, dispose of it according to local regulation.
