ABSTRACT

• Precise Insulin Delivery: The device aims to deliver accurate quantities of insulin,
improving user experience and health outcomes.
• Continuous Temperature Monitoring: The device uses a temperature sensor to
continuously monitor human body temperature.
• Affordable Solution: The device is designed to be a cost-effective solution for low-
income individuals with diabetes, enabling them to manage their condition without
frequent hospital visits.
INTRODUCTION
Types of Diabetes: Type 1 (T1D) and Type 2 (T2D) diabetes are two main forms, with T1D
resulting from insulin deficiency and T2D from insulin resistance.
Complications: Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to severe complications like cardiovascular
disease, retinopathy, and more.
Global Impact: Diabetes cases are increasing, with projections exceeding 500 million by
2030, emphasizing the need for effective management and treatment strategies.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

 Current insulin delivery methods (injections, inhalers, infusers) have

drawbacks, including skin marks, injuries, bruising, pain, and expense.
Implantable pumps require surgery, while patches may not deliver
insulin effectively.
 Forgetting doses can lead to complications like giddiness and low blood
sugar.
 An automatic insulin delivery system (insulin pump) offers a solution,
providing spontaneous insulin delivery and reducing these issues.
 This can improve the quality of life for people with diabetes, especially
the elderly and those with severe diabetes.
Objective:

• Real-time glucose monitoring using advanced sensors.

• Automated insulin delivery through an intelligent infusion pump.
• Remote health tracking via cloud platforms and mobile
applications.
• Timely alerts and interventions during abnormal glucose levels.
• Improved quality of life for diabetic patients with minimal human
intervention.
Proposed Methodology:

• Continuous Glucose Monitoring

Wearable sensors track real-time blood glucose levels continuously.
• IoT-Based Communication
Sensor data is wirelessly transmitted to cloud platforms via IoT modules.
• Data Storage & Visualization
Cloud services like ThingSpeak store and display health metrics in real-time.
• Automated Insulin Infusion
An intelligent pump automatically delivers insulin based on glucose readings.
• Mobile Application Interface
Users and doctors can access live data and receive alerts through a mobile app.
• Safety and Alerts
Emergency notifications are triggered during abnormal glucose conditions.
Block Diagram/Flow of Proposed Method:
PROPOSED METHOD EXPLAINATION

 Traditional insulin injection involves subcutaneous administration using

a syringe measured in units.
 The process requires injecting air into the vial, withdrawing medication,
and removing air bubbles by tapping the syringe.
 This manual manipulation necessitates a healthcare professional's
presence and separate instruments for data gathering.
 The process is time-consuming, requires full observation, and patients
must verify the insulin dosage.
 Smaller gauge and shorter needles are preferred to minimize discomfort,
but reuse of needles or syringes is common despite being discouraged.
