objectives, necessary procedure must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises, and

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so the
students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you

2. Instruct the students to visually inspect the seeds using a magnifying glass and
identify any physical characteristics associated with quality seeds.
3. Guide the students in conducting a seed germination test using the seed testing kit
and following the standard procedures.
4. Have the students record the percentage germination of each seed type and
compare the results. Rubric:
- Criteria: Proper identification of physical characteristics, accurate percentage
germination calculation
- Points: 5 for each correctly identified physical characteristic, 10 for accurate
percentage germination calculation

1. What are the physical characteristics associated with quality seeds?
2. Why is it important to conduct seed testing before planting?
Activity 2: Planting Material Treatment
Materials: Planting materials (cuttings, seedlings, etc.), disinfectant solution, planting
trays/pots, watering can, labels
Instructions:
1. Provide different planting materials to each group.
2. Instruct the students to treat the planting materials by immersing them in a
disinfectant solution for a specified time.
3. Guide the students in transferring the treated planting materials into planting
trays/pots, ensuring proper labeling.
4. Have the students discuss the importance of plant material treatment in preventing
diseases and improving crop establishment.
Rubric:
- Criteria: Proper treatment procedure, correct transfer of treated materials, appropriate
labeling
- Points: 10 for each step correctly

Activity 3: Seed Scarification
Materials: Hard-coated seeds, sandpaper, water, containers
Instructions:
1. Provide hard-coated seeds to each group.
2. Instruct the students to scarify the seeds by rubbing them against sandpaper gently.
3. Guide the students in soaking the scarified seeds in water for a specified time.
4. Have the students discuss the purpose of seed scarification and its impact on
germination. Rubric:
- Criteria: Proper scarification technique, correct soaking time, understanding of
scarification purpose
- Points: 10 for each step correctly
