Installing Windows on VirtualBox is a great way to run a virtual machine on your

computer. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:

1. **Download and Install VirtualBox**:

- Go to the [VirtualBox website](https://www.virtualbox.org/) and download the
latest version for your operating system.
- Follow the installation instructions to install VirtualBox on your computer.

2. **Download the Windows ISO File**:

- Visit the [Microsoft
website](https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10) to download the
Windows ISO file. Make sure you download the correct version (Windows 10 or Windows
11).

3. **Create a New Virtual Machine**:

- Open VirtualBox and click on the "New" button to create a new virtual machine.
- Name your virtual machine and select the operating system type and version
(e.g., Windows 10 or Windows 11).
- Allocate memory (RAM) to the virtual machine. A minimum of 4GB is recommended
for Windows 10/11.
- Create a virtual hard disk. The recommended size is at least 64GB.

4. **Configure the Virtual Machine**:

- Select your newly created virtual machine and click on "Settings".
- Go to the "System" tab and ensure that the "Motherboard" tab has "Enable EFI"
checked.
- Under the "Processor" tab, allocate at least 2 CPUs.
- Go to the "Display" tab and set the video memory to 256MB. Enable 3D
acceleration if needed.

5. **Attach the Windows ISO File**:

- In the "Settings" menu, go to the "Storage" tab.
- Under "Controller: IDE", click on the empty disk icon and then click on the
disk icon next to "Optical Drive".
- Choose the Windows ISO file you downloaded earlier.

6. **Start the Virtual Machine**:

- Click on the "Start" button to boot up the virtual machine.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows. You may need to bypass
certain checks like TPM, RAM, and Secure Boot. You can do this by pressing
`Shift+F10` to open the command prompt, typing `regedit`, and creating new DWORD
values under `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig`.

7. **Complete the Installation**:

- Once the installation is complete, you can install VirtualBox Guest Additions
for better performance and additional features.
