Raspberries are synonymous with summer and can be used in so many ways. Personally,
I prefer them with plant-based GRYR Mat øyel, or as a sour ingredient in cheesecakes.
Mmm. And I’m so lucky to have raspberries in my garden. So easy and yummy.

The Raspberry Sweater is a natural addition to the collection of berry sweaters. It stands
out from the others by being knitted top down, featuring a back neckline shaping, a
slightly a-lined body and an i-cord neckline edge. Try the sweater on as you knit to
achieve the perfect length. The ribbing on the body and sleeves is about 4 cm.

Size guide and measurements

The measurements in this pattern is only correct if the given gauge is achieved.
The sweater should have a positive ease from 5 to 10 cm.

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are intended to t a bust measurement
of approx. 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm.

Measure yourself or the one your knitting for, to nd the perfect size.
If you’re 95 cm around your bust, you should knit a size M that measures 101 cm.

Increasing
When you’re increasing, lift the strand between two stitched with the left needle from
back to front, and knit the loop from front to back (just like a twisted knit stitch).
Tighten a little bit to make sure it becomes invincible.

Neckband
Cast on 80 (80) 88 (88) 96 (96) 100 sts on a small circular needle size 3.5 mm (US4) with
color B. Knit 1 round of stockinette stitch while increasing 10 (16) 14 (20) 21 (27) 26 sts
evenly spaced on the round.

You should have 90 (96) 102 (108) 117 (123) 126 sts on your needle. The i-cord neckline
can be made 5-6 cm into the pattern chart, or when the sweater is done.

Round yoke
The round begins in the middle of the back (place a marker here).

Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm (US7) and knit pattern chart A.
Increase as shown, and change to a longer circular needle as the garment increases.

When you’ve knitted 5-6 cm of the pattern chart, you can jump to the i-cord instructions
if you want to take pictures of the round yoke as the sweater grows, like I’ve done.

fi
When you’re done with the pattern chart, you should have 240 (256) 272 (288) 312 (328)
336 sts on your needle. Knit stockinette stitch for 1 round with color A.

The yoke measures approx. 21 (21) 22 (22) 22 (22.5) 22.5 cm with the i-cord edge.
If you haven’t made it yet, you can reduce these measurements by 1 cm.

Shorts rows
It’s time to work short rows to raise the back and create a nice t. You are going to use
the German Shorts Rows technique for this part. Start mid back and knit like this:

ROW 1 (RS): Knit 27 (27) 31 (31) 31 (31) 35 sts, turn

ROW 2 (WS): Purl back to your marker, purl 27 (27) 31 (31) 31 (31) 35 sts, turn
ROW 3 (RS): Knit 18 (18) 18 (18) 20 (20) 24 sts after last RS turn, turn
ROW 4 (WS): Purl 18 (18) 18 (18) 20 (20) 24 sts after last WS turn, turn

Work these four rows, and work row 3 and 4 two more times = (1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3 og 4).
Knit back to your marker. The back is now raised to make a nice neckline shaping.

Knit stockinette stitch for 1 round before separating stitches for sleeves and body.

Separate sleeves and body

The sleeve sts is placed on a stitch-holder, waste yarn or small circular needle size
4.5 mm (US7), while you work the body. Separate stitches like this:

Knit 33 (35) 41 (43) 47 (54) 55 sts (1/2 back-piece)

Place 54 (58) 55 (58) 62 (57) 59 sleeve sts on a stitch-holder (sleeve)

Cast on 10 (9) 10 (12) 12 (14) 16 underarm sts

Knit 66 (70) 81 (86) 94 (107) 109 sts (front-piece)

Place 54 (58) 55 (58) 62 (57) 59 sleeve sts on a stitch-holder (sleeve)

Cast on 10 (9) 10 (12) 12 (14) 16 underarm sts

Knit 33 (35) 41 (43) 47 (54) 55 sts (1/2 back-piece)

Body
You should have 152 (158) 182 (196) 212 (242) 250 sts on your needle.

Move the marker you had centered mid back to sts no. 38 (49) 45 (49) 53 (60) 62 (right
side), and place a marker around sts no. 114 (118) 136 (147) 159 (181) 187 (left side).
Count from the marker you had mid back - sts number 1.

Now you’ll know where to increase, to make an a-lined shaped body.

3
fi
Work stockinette stitch until the body measures 34 (36) 38 (40) 41 (42) 43 cm measured
from underarm opening, while increasing 2 sts in each side of the body (1 sts in each side
of the marker) every 8 (8.5) 9 (9.5) 10 (10) 10.5 cm, 4 times in total.

You’ll nd an illustration of the increases on the next page to make it easier for you.

Knit 1 round while decreasing 0 (2) 2 (0) 0 (2) 2 sts evenly spaced on the round.
Knit pattern chart B with circular needle size 4.5 mm (US7). Cast o all stitches loosely.

Sleeves
Transfer sts from the stitch-holder to a circular needle size 4.5 mm (US7), and cast on
10 (9) 10 (12) 12 (14) 16 underarm sts. Place a marker centered under the sleeve.

You should now have 64 (67) 65 (70) 74 (71) 75 sts on your needle.

Knit stockinette stitch for 3 (2) 12 (11) 15 (26) 24 rounds. The sleeve measures
approx. 1.3 (0.8) 5 (4.6) 6.3 (10.8) 10 cm from the sleeve opening.

Continue with stockinette stitch, while decreasing 2 sts centered under the sleeve (1 sts
in each side of the marker) every 7th round 12 (13) 12 (13) 13 (12) 13 times in total.

Change to double pointed needles as the sleeve narrows in.

The sleeve should measure approx. 36.3 (38.8) 40 (42.5) 44.2 (45.8) 48 cm.
You should have 40 (41) 41 (44) 48 (47) 49 sts on your needle now.

Knit 1 round while decreasing 0 (1) 1 (0) 0 (3) 1 sts evenly spaced on the round.

Knit pattern chart B with circular needle size 4.5 mm (US7).

Cast o all stitches loosely. Work the other sleeve the same way.

I-cord neckband edge

Pick up new sts in each cast-on sts on a circular needle size 3.5 mm (US4) and color B.

You should have 80 (80) 88 (88) 96 (96) 100 sts on your needle.

Cast on 4 new sts onto your left needle by twisting them onto the needle with the help of
your right needle. If this is unclear, I highly recommend this video by Kimmie Munkholm:

*Knit 3 sts, knit 2 sts together in the back loop. Move 4 sts from your right to left needle.*

Repeat from * to * until you have 4 sts left on your right needle, bind them o loosely.

Stitch the i-cord edge nicely together.

Tip! It’s important that you don’t pull too tight when knitting the i-cord edge.

Finishing
Weave in all ends on the wrong side. Good luck with your project.
Enjoy the good taste of raspberries. Mmm, delicious.
