Mrs. Gabbie owns a bakery. Her bakery is well-known


for its high-quality delicious pastries.

1. There are 6 bakers and 2 bakery cashiers working


in Mrs. Gabbie’s bakery. How many staff
members are working there?

2. In the bakery storage room, there are 9 sacks of


flour, 3 sacks of sugar and 5 boxes of margarine.
How many sacks are there in the storage room?

3. Mrs. Gabbie served 5 trays of cheesebreads, 9


trays of caramel breads and 5 trays of
drinks for her family reunion. How many
trays of bread were there altogether?
4. There are 3 different flavors of doughnuts, 4
different flavors of croissants, and 5 different
flavors of pretzels displayed in her bakery. How
many different flavors are there in that bakery?

5. One customer bought 6 strawberry cakes from


Mrs. Gabbie’s bakery. She was amazed by the
taste of the cake, so the following day she
bought another 7 strawberry cakes. How many
strawberry cakes did Mrs. Gabbie sell to that
customer?

6. One of Mrs. Gabbie’s customers had a birthday


party with 5 blueberry muffins, 7 chocolate muffins,
and 3 cinnamon muffins on a big plate on the
table. How many muffins were there on the plate?

7. Write the addition equation for this sentence:


“Abbie orders 2 trays of big chocolate cookies
from Mrs. Gabbie’s bakery. Each tray has 8 big
chocolate cookies. So, Mrs. Gabbie has to bake
16 big cookies.”

Friday. Everyone had a great time there!
1. 7 students in Ms. Merilyn’s class went on the trip

and 3 students called in sick and could not go on

ponies. On the other side of the farm, there were
2 ponies for riding. How many ponies were there?

3. Students were lining up for pony rides. As there


were 2 ponies, the students line up in 2 lines.
There were 7 students in one line and 6 students
in another line. How many students were lining up
for pony rides?
4. There were two wagons in the farm. Each wagon
took 8 students. How many students were on the
wagons?

5. The farm prepared some drinks for the students.


There were 3 trays of hot chocolate and 4 trays
of juice. How many trays of drinks were there?

6. Write the addition sentence that fits this: “The


student helped with the harvesting at the farm,
there are harvested 3 boxes of pumpkin and 9
boxes of tomatoes. They harvested 12 boxes in
total.”

6. Write the addition sentence that fits this: “There

top of the original 9 recipes she has, she has a
