Position: Head Teacher I
Date: July 16, 2025
Topic: Orientation on ARAL Program
Objective/s: To reiterate the implementation scheme of the Academic Recovery And
Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program
Summary:
DepEd ARAL Program, established by Republic Act No. 12028, is a national
learning intervention program focused on addressing learning gaps in reading,
mathematics, and science for learners in Kindergarten to Grade 10 in public schools. It
aims to ensure that all learners, including those in the Alternative Learning System,
develop foundational skills and reach grade-level competencies. The program utilizes
various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, or blended tutorials, and may
include supplemental classes during summer breaks.
Reflection: I acquired thorough understanding of the National stance to intensify
learning through ARAL Program. I agree that learner’s learning and development is
basically an obligation of teachers. It is collaboratively instilled by teachers from Key
Stage 1 and through out the succeeding grade levels. Teachers need to be more
compassionate and empathetic for their learners. However, at this time that we are
olready on the dilemma of the backlog of developing foundational skills and functional
literacy, schools must make their means to offer sustainable and efficient remediation
and intervention.
Observation Notes: The speaker has mastery of the topic and was abl;e to explain her
topic well.

Position: Master Teacher I
Date: July 31, 2025
Topic: Orientation on ARAL Program
Objective/s: To reiterate the implementation scheme of the Academic Recovery And
Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program
Summary:
On July 31, 2025, Daniw Elementary School conducted a School Learning Action Cell
(SLAC) session on the Department of Education’s ARAL Program, led by Mrs. Josefina
Cagayat, Master Teacher. She underscored the importance of implementing literacy
intervention programs under the leadership of teachers and highlighted the need for
proper monitoring to ensure the program’s success.
Reflection: The SLAC session on the DepEd ARAL Program held on July 31, 2025, led by
Mrs. Josefina Cagayat, was a timely reminder of our vital role as teachers in promoting
literacy among our learners. Her emphasis on the importance of implementing effective
intervention programs reinforces the idea that addressing learning gaps is a shared
responsibility that requires dedication and consistency. I realized that beyond teaching, it
is our duty to ensure that every learner receives the support they need to improve their
reading and comprehension skills. The call for proper monitoring serves as a guide for us
to track progress, identify challenges, and make necessary adjustments to achieve better
outcomes. This session inspired me to be more proactive, resourceful, and committed to
the success of the ARAL Program, knowing that each effort we put in today will shape the
future of our learners.
Observation Notes: The speaker has mastery of the topic and was abl;e to explain her

Topic: School Retooling on Conducting the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-
IRI)
Objective/s: Retool teachers on how to accurately assess the reading proficiency of
learners through the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) in order to identify
their strengths and areas for improvement, and to provide appropriate interventions that
will enhance their reading skills and overall literacy.
Summary:
n August 15, 2025, Daniw Elementary School conducted a School Learning Action Cell
(SLAC) session on “School Retooling on Conducting the Philippine Informal Reading
Inventory (Phil-IRI)” led by Mrs. Josefina Cagayat, Master Teacher. She emphasized the
importance of conducting truthful and appropriate reading assessments to accurately
identify learners’ needs. Mrs. Cagayat reminded the teachers that proper assessment
serves as the foundation for implementing effective reading remediation programs,
ensuring that interventions truly address the gaps in learners’ reading skills.
Reflection: The SLAC on School Retooling for Conducting the Philippine Informal
Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) highlighted the importance of integrity and accuracy in
assessing learners’ reading skills. Mrs. Cagayat’s reminder about truthful and appropriate
assessment made me realize that reliable results are the foundation for effective reading
remediation. Without accurate data, interventions may fail to address learners’ real
needs. This session inspired me to be more diligent and precise in conducting reading
assessments to ensure that every remediation effort is both targeted and meaningful.
