noble mansions unnoticed, lifting purses and secrets with the same deft fingers.

At age 13, everything changed. Neris returned home one evening to find her mother
hanged in their hovel, a crude message carved into the wood: "Loose lips drown

Eventually, she caught the attention of a secretive network of informants and spies
known as The Veiled Eye, who had been watching her with interest. They took her in,

Velsar’s ruling class from the inside.
