A small introduction and tour of Nishkam Bhawan Seeing children from all

backgrounds learning and enjoying activities together reinforced the importance of inclusive
spaces. I realized that beyond academics, shared experiences and encouragement shape
young minds. Witnessing the genuine joy and eagerness of the students at the NGO’s
summer camp. Seeing them learn, interact, and break barriers through shared experiences
was truly inspiring.

Different games were played with the students which made me realized that irrespective of
their background (as students come from different backgrounds) they were together playing
without any hesitation or any kind of discrimination. Today I realized something deep about
education and priorities—these kids have learned what’s most immediately useful for
communication and safety, but the emotional and personal connections, like properly
spelling their mother’s name, might not have been emphasized in their learning journey.

"Today, an Art and Craft session with several students was conducted. While many
demonstrated proficiency in executing the activities, some encountered difficulties. To
ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment, I provided assistance to those who
required guidance, helping them refine their techniques and complete their projects
successfully. This engagement fostered creativity, confidence, and collaborative learning
among the students.

"It seems like the kids have a lot of knowledge, but some of it is incomplete or
misunderstood. This kind of gap is pretty common—sometimes, we pick up information in
fragments, or we don’t get the chance to verify what we learn." Boys were hesitant to dance
and required external encouragement to participate, highlighting a social barrier to
engagement in group activities. So I danced with them because sometimes people just need
a little push—seeing someone else take the lead makes it easier to join in.

On June 5th, in observance of Environment Day, I organized an educational quiz focusing on

topics related to the environment, Earth, and sustainability. The children demonstrated
remarkable enthusiasm and knowledge, actively participating and showcasing their
awareness of environmental issues. As a gesture to encourage ecological responsibility, I
presented each child with a plant, symbolizing their role in nurturing and protecting nature.
The event fostered both learning and engagement, reinforcing the importance of
environmental conservation in a meaningful and interactive manner.

During today's interactions, I observed that students from economically modest

backgrounds possess a remarkable depth of knowledge. When presented with questions,
they responded with well-articulated explanations, demonstrating their understanding and
eagerness to engage. This experience reinforced the idea that intellectual curiosity and
learning are not constrained by socioeconomic status; rather, they flourish where there is
dedication and enthusiasm. The students’ insightful responses highlighted their ability to
comprehend and express complex ideas, underscoring the importance of fostering
educational opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their background.

Today, during my internship at the NGO, one of the most rewarding experiences was leading
a full-body warm-up session with the children before their Taekwondo practice. I performed
various stretching exercises alongside them, ensuring they were physically prepared for their
training. This activity not only helped in promoting flexibility and overall well-being but also
fostered a sense of connection and engagement with the children.

"Today at the NGO, I played a special game that tested students' attentiveness, focus, and
concentration. The activity was fun and engaging, encouraging them to stay alert and use
their minds effectively.

"During the game at the NGO, students had to quickly touch their shoulders, knees, toes,
and head when told. I noticed that some children from underprivileged backgrounds
struggled to tell the difference between knees and toes, while others were very focused and
attentive. It showed both gaps in basic knowledge and strong concentration skills among
different students.

"Today, I had the opportunity to assist some students with their art and craft
projects, which was the most enjoyable part of the day. The experience brought back fond
memories of my school days, particularly the times when I engaged in thumb painting. It was
a nostalgic and fulfilling moment, blending creativity with shared learning.

"Games such as ""Simon Says"" encourage active listening and quick decision-making, while
rhythmic movement exercises, including dancing to songs like ""Ram Sam Sam,"" enhance
motor skills, sequencing, and spatial awareness."

"Many children encounter difficulties in fast-paced activities as they struggle to synchronize

their movements with their peers. This challenge often arises due to variations in motor
coordination, reaction speed, and adaptability to dynamic group interactions." "The
highlight of the day was recognizing that many students were fast learners. Several quickly
grasped new dance steps and implemented them immediately, showing the same
adaptability in the art and craft class. Their ability to apply new concepts so swiftly reflects
strong cognitive skills and enthusiasm for learning.

"Today, a captivating magic show took place, bringing excitement and wonder to the
attendees. Additionally, we recorded video testimonials from students and their parents, in
which they shared their experiences and reflections on the event. During the magic show,
the children displayed keen curiosity and strong observational skills, firmly maintaining their
perception of the magician’s trick. Despite an attempt to convince them otherwise, they
remained steadfast in their belief. Additionally, one child expressed enthusiasm for being in
the spotlight, requesting to be recorded during their interaction with the magician.
"Today, I realized that childhood curiosity drives continuous learning, but as we grow,
we often lose that eagerness, becoming less proactive in personal development. Recognizing
this can inspire a conscious effort to learn and evolve daily.

" "A key challenge today was managing the children before the magic show, as the
magician arrived late. With limited activities to keep them engaged, maintaining order
proved difficult until the performance began.

" To keep the children engaged while waiting for the delayed magic show, I introduced
games such as charades and a counting challenge where students alternated between
English and Hindi. Additionally, I encouraged them to recite poems and played trending
songs, ensuring an interactive and enjoyable atmosphere

As we prepare for the concluding summer camp, we dedicated today's session to planning
and attempting bulk certificate creation using Canva. This included appreciation certificates,
participation certificates, and formal certificates. While not everything is fully ready, we
successfully learned the process of creating them. "During the summer camp, participants
engaged in the Pop the Balloon game, played in pairs. One player inflated the balloon while
the other popped it, with the winning pair being the one that popped the most balloons in
one minute. The teachers demonstrated the game with enthusiasm, reinforcing the core
value of team spirit.

" The most remarkable aspect of the activity was the children's genuine enjoyment,
even as spectators. They were especially excited to see their teachers participating with full
enthusiasm and engagement, making the experience more memorable.

On the penultimate day of our summer camp, the Member of Parliament from our city
visited us. They inquired about our experiences and engaged in discussions regarding the
functioning of the NGO. Toward the end of the visit, they took photographs with the
participants and distributed gifts as a gesture of appreciation. Today, I realized that this social
internship has been the most enriching part of my college experience. It allowed me to
develop my skills, build confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of
helping those in need. I have come to appreciate that assisting others is a responsibility we
should always uphold, as those who have the ability to help are chosen to make a difference.
The most significant moment of the day was representing my college in front of the
visiting Member of Parliament. It was my first time addressing such a distinguished guest,
and I was able to speak with confidence. Additionally, witnessing the joy of the children as
they learned something new during the summer camp was truly gratifying. Their smiles,
especially when receiving gifts and refreshments, made the experience even more
memorable. The primary challenge I faced today was overcoming my fear of speaking in
front of others. Initially, I tried to avoid drawing attention to myself, as I knew that if I
became the focus, I would have to represent and speak. This remained the biggest challenge
for me throughout the day. Although the challenge was not particularly significant, I
summoned all my strength and reminded myself that I am Arjun—I am capable of
accomplishing anything. This mindset greatly assisted me, enabling me to confidently speak
and represent my college before such a large audience

"Today marked the conclusion of our summer camp, featuring a certificate

distribution ceremony, a gift presentation, and several other noteworthy events. The
presence of our city's Vidhan Sabha representative lent prestige to the occasion. Later, we
had the honor of interacting with the newly appointed Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), who
engaged us in a meaningful discussion.

" "Today, I realized the immense contribution made by us, the volunteers and
members of Nishkam NGO. Our efforts proved to be truly meaningful, as the children
confidently expressed themselves and performed in front of the esteemed guests.
Witnessing their enthusiasm and growth was a moment of great pride, reaffirming that all
the dedication and hard work invested in this initiative were truly worthwhile. It was a
deeply gratifying experience, reminding us to be thankful for the opportunity to make a
positive impact

" "The most touching moment of the day occurred towards the end, when the children
performed a song dedicated to their parents. This heartfelt gesture deeply moved the
audience, with many parents becoming emotional. One mother, in particular, was
overwhelmed with emotion, requiring consolation as she expressed profound pride in her
child.

Furthermore, when we asked the children if they would attend the camp if it were extended,
they responded enthusiastically, affirming their willingness to continue. They also promised
to return next year, demonstrating their appreciation and eagerness to be part of this
enriching experience once again

Today work assigned was to collect songs for the event which are traditional, cultural
and devotional and make a playlist.

 Today I did the offline outreach for HerTeej. I spoke to around 3-4 people—mostly
family and neighbors in. Most of them were supportive and found the concept of Parineeta
interesting. One aunty even asked if she could put up a stall. A couple of people were just
neutral, but overall the response was good. Few said they’ll definitely try to come.
Today I realized that when you actually go out and talk to people, you get to know
how supportive some can be—even if you don’t expect it. Also, small efforts like spreading
the word can make a bigger impact than you think.

Just starting the conversation. It wasn’t exactly awkward, but it felt really strange at
first—especially talking seriously about the event to people I usually just greet casually. But
once I got into it, it started to feel more natural and their responses made it easier I
overcame it by just taking a deep breath and starting with the people I was more
comfortable with. Once I spoke to the first few, the rest became easier. Their positive
reactions helped me feel more confident and less hesitant.

Children showcased their amazing talents — from graceful dance performances to heartfelt
poem recitations and inspiring doha renditions.

The event was buzzing with excitement as visitors explored a variety of vibrant stalls offering
fun, food, and handcrafted goods." "Today, I realized the power of giving children a
platform — how even the smallest voices can shine when they are heard.

I also saw how a simple community gathering can bring people together — with smiles,
support, and shared culture.
