Ⅰ. GENERAL
To carry out Cargo sampling from the cargo tank, the sample liquid is generally taken through the tank
hole.
Moreover, it is required that this job must be carried out without releasing dangerous vapor from tank.
〔Closed Sampling〕
For sampling of different kinds of chemical liquid, it is effective to use the device which can be
disassembled and washed easily.
"MMC" Closed Cargo Liquid Sampling Device is portable type to be fitted on "MMC" Tank Gauging
Station (Vapor Locks) installed on tank top.
It is available to draw up cargo liquid sample in any desired level without releasing dangerous vapor
from tank.
Also in case the sample liquid is dangerous, the sample liquid 〔drawn up by the "MMC" Sampling
Bottle〕 can be filled to container (bottle) without taking out the Sampling Bottle from the device.
〔"Self-Filling Construction"〕
Especially, the device developed by MMC (ASIA) has been designed and constructed to disassemble
and wash easily for use of various kinds of chemical sampling.
Ⅱ. CONSTRUCTION

The device consists of a Tape Reel Device [to lower and raise the Sampling Bottle in tank], Sampling
Bottle, Storage Barrel, and Sample Filler.
“Tape Reel Device” Model “CST” is assembled with a Gas-Tight Housing, a Tape Reel and a Handle
Mechanism for rotating of the Tape Reel.
The Graduated Stainless Steel Tape (JIS 1ST class) is wound in the reel, a Hook is fitted at the end of
the Graduated Tape to hang Cargo Liquid Sampling Bottle.
This device is designed as closed (gas-tight) construction for chemical cargo liquid sampling.
The Cargo Liquid Sampling Bottle Model “05L43D” can be sampling 0.5 Ltr. capacity.
The container is designed as bottle shape to pass smoothly through the sounding pipe installed in tank,
also to avoid contamination with dust or rust inside the sounding pipe.
Liquid sampling can be achieved at any required level by joggling (pumping action), due to the check
valve mechanism (Teflon ball) at the bottom of the Sampling Bottle.
The Storage Barrel Model “51S600” is to be stored Sampling Bottle, also to be connected between
Tape Reel Device and the Sampling Filler.

The Sampe Filler Model “SF-F/R” is designed to lower the sampling bottle into the tank and to fill the
liquid sample to the container (bottle) by operating the 3-way valve. Also, this instrument is to be fitted
on the Tank Gauging Station [ Vapor Locks ] Model. “C-50” or “F-50”, and sampling job can be carried
out without releasing dangerous vapor from tank.
In general, the Liquid Container (Bottle) shall be arranged at the port terminal by the cargo owner or the
cargo surveyor.
Considering of the container (bottle) narrow-opening type to be arranged, the container (bottle) shall be
held to exit of the sampling filler by hand. [Be careful not to spill the sample liquid].
In case the container (bottle) with wide-opening type (I.D. over φ28MM/less than φ40MM, O.D. less
than φ50MM) shall be arranged, MMC prepares the Container Holder [for purpose of gas-tight] like
chemical use. [option]
