The naming ceremony is pretty simple, a few short prayers is all that is needed to welcome ________ into

the tribe of Israel. Before we get started, I would just like to say a few words about how we came up with
_____ name.

With the speechifying out of the way, we just have a few prayers to go through. First, we’ll start with a
shehecheyanu, a prayer of thanks for making it to this point.

Everyone :

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, shehecheyanu v’key’manu v’higiyanu lazman
hazeh.

Birchat Ha gomel- thanks for completing a difficult journey

Baruch ata Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, ha-gomel l’chayavim tovot sheh-g’malani kal tov.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, ruler of the world, who rewards the undeserving with goodness,
and who has rewarded me with goodness.

Baruch ata Adonai, Ehloheinu mehlech ha'olam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav

v'tzivanu l'hachnisah bi'v'rit hachayim.

We praise you, Eternal God, Sovereign of the universe: You hallow us with Your
Mitzvot, and command us to bring our daughters into the Covenant of Life.

May the One who blessed our patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and our matriarchs,
Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah, bless the childbearing woman _ Shira _, and her
newborn daughter born in favor, and may her name be called in Israel ___Talia ________
daughter of Talor and Shira. Bless, we pray to You, her parents and her family that
they have the merit to raise her to the Torah, to the marriage canopy and to good deeds; and
let us say: Amen.
