Part 1: (About 5 words)

1. I’m interested in cooking meals.

2. I’m fond of computers.
3. I prefer urban areas.
4. Yes, I do.
5. I work as a nurse.

Part 2: (About 20 - 30 words)

It’s been three months since I last visited a museum called Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine
Arts. It was a fascinating experience exploring Vietnamese artworks and traditional styles.

Part 3: (About 30 - 40 words/ answer)

1. When I was a little girl, I visited the Natural History Museum with my family. It was awe-
inspiring seeing the dinosaur skeletons and learning about ancient civilizations. Moreover, I
remembered that my parents bought a printed T-shirt for me on that day.
2. Well, both of them are great. However, I suggest going to war museums. Because it not only
reminds your children about the heroes’ sacrifice, but it helps them learn about the meaning of
a lasting peace between our nations.

3. That is an interesting question. In my opinion, the majority of people have the tendency to visit
amusement parks instead of museums because of various kinds of relaxation and limited
awareness of people about history.

1. Email to your friend: (About 50 words)

Hey Vincent,

How’s everything?

I’m sure that you’ve got an email from our Museum Club.

I’m delighted to hear that we ought to issue an entrance fee for visiting our museum.

I think that it’s a reasonable proposal to reduce the maintenance cost.

How about you? Tell me.

Best,

Anh

2. Email to the manager: (About 120 – 150 words)

Dear Sir,

My name is Anh. I have been a member of our Museum Club for a long time. I am writing to give
my honest suggestions related to your previous email.

According to the news, our club is going to charge an admission fee to cover the maintenance
costs.

Honestly, I am absolutely delighted to hear this news since I think this innovation is necessary to
improve facilities and bring the best experience to our visitors.

Hence, I would venture some suggestions. Firstly, I think we should set appropriate fees for both
domestic and foreign tourists to boost the development of our museum. Secondly, I suggest that
the ticket price will be completely free for children under 14 and elderly people over 65 years old.
The final suggestion is that we will discount fifty percent for our members.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Anh Pham

ĐỀ 3: THE TELEVISION CLUB

Part 2: You want to join a Television club. Fill in the form. Write in sentences.
(About 20 – 30 words)

When do you usually watch television, and what do you watch?

I usually watch TV in my free time or when I’m in a good mood. I’m interested in watching news and
drama series. I think they’re not only useful but entertaining.

Part 3: You are communicating with other members of the club in the chat room. Talk to them
using sentences. Use 30 – 40 words per answer.
Gerard: I like to sit in a comfortable chair and eat something when I watch TV. How about you?
How do you relax in front of the TV?
What an interesting question! When I am burned out at the end of a long working day, I usually sit in
front of a TV. I like watching my favorite movies on Netflix and eating some popcorn with my
husband.

Natalia: I don’t like watching TV with people when they talk during the program. Which do you
prefer, watching TV alone or with others? Why?
That’s a good question! I sometimes like watching TV alone when I want to focus and fully immerse
myself in the shows. At other times, I enjoy watching television with others because I can chat with
them and do some interesting activities.

Viker: Some people say that watching too much television is not good for young children. What do
you think?
I couldn’t agree more. Because of watching TV too much, most children suffer from a lack of outdoor
activity and exercise, which negatively affects their physical health. Excessive screen time can result
in many health problems, such as nearsightedness, obesity, and so on.

Part 4: You are a member of the Television club.

Dear member,

The Television club is all about celebrating our love of television programs, both old and new. A lot of
our members communicate with each other online, but we would like to organize an annual
conference. We would like your suggestions about where we could meet and what we could do at the
conference. We want to invite members from as many different countries as possible. Please send
us your suggestions and give your reasons for making those suggestions.

The Manager

1. Write an email to your friend, who is also a member of the club. (About 50 words)

Hey Jane,

How is it going?

I’m sure that you have got an email from our Television Club.

I’m delighted to hear that our club would like to organize an annual conference.

I suggest holding an annual conference in a hall and giving a talk.

How about you? Drop me a line.

Best,

Anh

2. Write an email to the club. (About 120 – 150 words)

Dear Sir,
My name is Anh. I have been a member of our Television Club for a long time. I am writing to
give my honest suggestions related to your previous email.
According to the news, we will organize an annual conference in the near future. Moreover, we
want to invite members from as many different countries as possible.
Honestly, I am absolutely delighted to hear the news. Because I have been waiting for this
event since March.
Hence, I would venture some suggestions. First, I think we should hold an annual conference at
Cloud Nine Sai Gon Restaurant in District 1. It is one of the most famous restaurants in
Vietnam. Second, I suggest organizing some interesting conferences about “Future of
Television” since it is suitable for top executives and professionals in the streaming industry to
come together and discuss trending topics.
I am looking forward to receiving your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Anh Pham

COMMUNITY CLUB
Part 1: You want to join a food club. Fill in the form. Use 1 – 5 words

1. What's the weather like today? It’s drizzling.

It’s been drizzling all day.
2. What do you usually do in the evening? I go for a walk.
3. Where would you like to live? I like urban areas.
4. Which season of the year do you like? I’m really into fall.
5. Where do you like to go in the summer? I enjoy beaches and mountains.

Part 2: You are a new member of a Community Club. Fill in the form. Write in
sentences. Use 20 – 30 words.
Why did you join?

The reason I want to become a member of our club is to raise the Vietnamese people’s awareness of
helping the miserable. Volunteering to work with young people helps me really make a difference.

Part 3: You are a member of a Community Club. You are talking to three other
members in the Community Club chat room. Talk to them using sentences. Use 30–40
words.

1. My friend wants to go to the hair salon, but her car isn't working. Can you suggest
some ways for her to get there?

I think the most suitable way for her is booking a car or a motorbike through apps such as Grab or Be,
which is more convenient and economical. She only needs to wait for the driver to come to pick her
up.

----

If I were you, I would advise her to take a taxi for a quick drive. As taxi drivers are usually locals, so
they know the shortest route to get to one of the most famous hair salons in Hanoi.

Volunteering provides great learning opportunities and helps others a lot. Do you agree
with this?

I can see eye to eye with this statement. When we participate in volunteering activities, we can learn
new essential skills to help others in need, for example, making food for the homeless, picking up
rubbish, or nursing the elderly.

Do you agree with the view that volunteering is a form of learning, especially for young
people? Why?

Yes, I agree. Volunteering provides great learning opportunities as it helps people develop new skills,
gain real-life experience, and understand different perspectives. Moreover, it allows us to make a
positive impact by helping the needy, improving communities, and fostering kindness and cooperation.
Part 4: You are a member of a Community Club. You received this email from the club.

Dear Member,

Our club needs support with several tasks this year. First, we need more members who can
actively participate in our ongoing projects. Second, we are looking for creative ideas to
develop new activities. Could you share some suggestions with us to help support our projects
this year?

1. Write an email to your friend. Write about your feelings and what you would like to
do. Write about 50 words.

Hi Lan,
What’s up?
I’m sure that you’ve got an email from our Community Club.
I’m ecstatic that our club needs more members to join in our next project and is looking for creative
ideas to develop new activities.
I’m playing with the idea of shooting the manager an email about my proposals.
Love,
Anh

2. Write an email to the manager of the club. Write about 120 - 150 words.

Dear Sir,
My name is Anh. I have been a member of our Community Club for ages. I am writing to give
my honest suggestions regarding your previous announcement.
As announced, our club wants all members to give ideas to support several tasks next year.
Moreover, we also want to look for some creative ideas to develop our new activities.
Honestly, I am ecstatic to hear the news. Because I have been waiting for these innovations
since last month.
Hence, I would venture some recommendations. Firstly, I think we should organize a
membership recruitment event to get more members to take part in our ongoing projects. In
this event, I suggest inviting some famous singers, for example, Chipu or Son Tung MTP,
which attracts more attention. Secondly, we need to make a survey so that we can vote on
members’ ideas for new activities.
I am looking forward to your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Anh Pham
