Introduction:

I am Numan Fakhar from Abbottabad, Pakistan. I recently completed my Level 5 Diploma in

Business Management from Common Wealth Education Group. This qualification enabled me to
grasp foundational knowledge regarding business and management skills. Besides my
academics, I started my professional career in 2017 as a sales associate at Raja Jee Garments
Store, where I managed organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales,
revenue, and expense control.

Educational Background:

I recently completed my Level 5 Diploma in Business Management from Common Wealth

Education Group. This qualification enabled me to grasp foundational knowledge regarding
business and management skills. Prior to that, I did my intermediate in 2017 securing 42%
marks. In my matriculation exams held in 2015, I scored 50 % marks.

Last qualification

I have completed Extended Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business Management.

Why do you want to study in the UK?

I am interested in studying in the UK due to its reputation for having some of the world's oldest
and highest-ranked universities. According to the QS World Rankings, four out of the top ten
universities globally are based in the UK.

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of UK regularly assesses the education standards of all
universities and colleges in the country. This ensures all students have access to the best quality
of learning, research and teaching irrespective of the course they choose to pursue.

There are also advanced teaching methodologies.

As the UK courses are typically shorter and more intensive compared to other countries, which
allows students to graduate more quickly without compromising on quality. Furthermore, my
next route is BA top-up which I believe only UK offer to me to complete my bachelor’s degree
with my Level 5 qualifications.

Furthermore, The Degrees from the UK are globally recognized and highly valued around the
world. UK degree holders are preferred over local degree holders in multinational companies in
Pakistan. Moreover, this degree will also open door of work opportunities for me in Gulf region
as well.

The UK has a high employment rate, meaning there are many job opportunities for graduates.
This makes it easier for students to find good jobs after completing their studies. The
employment rate in the UK for people aged 16-64 is approximately 74.5%.

Studying in the UK will help me improve my English skills, which are essential for global
communication and can enhance my career prospects internationally

Apart from International recognition my degree from UK will benefit me in my chosen career
path since UK degree holders are preferred over local degree holders in multinational
companies in Pakistan. Moreover, this degree will also open door of work opportunities for me
in Gulf region since opportunities exist all over this culturally diverse region especially in UAE for
English language speakers.

What are the benefits of studying in the UK as compared to your home country?
Comparing British education system with my home country, students can get high quality and
innovative study choices in a shorter but more intensive period of time. Whereas in Pakistan
students will have to engage their extra period of time on same theoretical curriculum which is
not updated from past 1 decade. In UK, apart from education students can achieve an
experience of learning in multi-cultural society and meet different ethnicities and their cultures
in this duration. Moreover, students doing part time work will gain international companies
experience there which will also be beneficial for their career. On whole students will be able to
explore a different environment than their home country which itself is an exemplary benefit for
them.

Describe why you chose the UK over other potential study destinations. Please include a
comparison of factors such as educational quality, course availability, costs, or visa policies.

I choose the UK due to many factors. First of all, it has world-recognized and Top Ranked
Universities. In comparison with the United States, Canada, Germany, and other countries, the
United Kingdom offers shorter degree programs so it is a time-saving degree for me. The United
Kingdom offers a program in English Language so it is another great factor for me because, in
Germany or Spain, the main issue is the Language Barrier. These countries offer programs in
their languages. On the other hand, I didn't choose my home country due to the old teaching
method very less opportunities for students, and no research and funding.

Explain your reasons for choosing DMU over other universities.

I choose De Mont Fort University due to many reasons. First, its ranking attracts me which I
found through Internet Research. According to Global 2024 Rankings, De Mont Fort University is
ranked 801 in the world and 69th in the United Kingdom. Also, the University is ranked in the
Top 25 Best Universities in the UK. The second reason is its Course Structure. University offers
the same module which is According to my interest. The course module has been improving and
is more relevant to professional and industrial settings.

De Montfort University (DMU) is located in Leicester, a vibrant city in England's East Midlands
region. The university's main campus is conveniently positioned near the city center, making it
accessible for me. This great location will allow me to enjoy a variety of services. Furthermore,
the university's campus also has modern facilities, such as cutting-edge classrooms, libraries,
and study areas, which improve the overall student experience.

Through DMU Global, we offer a wide range of opportunities including on-campus and UK
activities, overseas study, internships, faculty-led field trips, and volunteering, as well as
Erasmus+ and international exchanges. The student Employability rate of de Montfort University
is 97.3 which is higher than Leicester University. And the student satisfaction rate is 80.67.
I checked top up program at University of East London; it offers the course having emphasis on
international businesses and other modules didn’t appeal me. And university rank is lower than
De Montfort University. According to Times higher ranking, DMU is ranked 601–800th in World
University Rankings 2025, while UEL is ranked 1001–1200th in World University Rankings 2025. I
also researched the Bloomsbury Institute. It didn't offer modules according to my interest like
digital marketing, Digital marketing with consumer behavior.

Additionally, DMU graduates have good career opportunities in the future. Their careers team
was named the best in the country (target jobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards, 2024)
DMU is also rated a 5-star ‘excellent’ university by QS, a world leader in evaluating higher
education performance. It not only achieved an ‘excellent’ rating overall but also scored the
maximum five stars in key criteria including employability.

I am proceeding my studies for BA (Hons) Business Management (Top-up) Level 6. The course
offers the opportunity to develop and understanding of business management. I will also
receive experience of practical approach which will help me to have the most distinguished
degree to enhance my skills and expertise. The programme is designed to provide an
international curriculum learning of modern businesses along with management skills. The
program based of following modules:

 Managing Business Projects
 Change, innovation and Knowledge management
 Crisis And Risk Management
 Business strategy and simulation

The course modules that appealed me are: Critical Issues in Global Business, Business Strategy
and Simulation, and Managing Business Projects. I believe studying these modules will hone my
skills and provide me in depth insights to operate business projects.

What are your career plans?

I am looking forward to continue my career in corporate businesses as Business development

Manager and would like to join well known firms in my region such as Unilever Pakistan,
Cocacola Pakistan, Nestle Pakistan, MOL Oil and gas company. Since in past few years
multinational firms in Pakistan prefers international graduates to perform tasks due to advance
and enhanced professional environment. Mostly these firms offer handsome salary packages
along with additional benefits varying from PKR 350,000 to PKR 450,000 Initially. I want to start
my career from these firms in order to maintain my career successfully. However in long run I
am also interested in doing my own business so my practical experience in these top notch firms
will allow to gather some high skills to further use them in my own business.

How much do you need to live in the UK?

Monthly cost of living in London is 1500 GBP and yearly cost of living is 13,500 GBP.

And outside London will cost me 1,166 GBP and yearly cost of living costs 10,500 GBP.

I have chosen to live at Regents Court, Leicester Rawson St, Leicester, LE1 6UP, United Kingdom,
which is approximately 0.4 miles away fromDe Montfort University. This accommodation is
convenient as it provides multiple commuting options to the university.
Walking: The university is just a 8-minute walk from the accommodation.

By Bus: It takes 8 minutes to reach the university by bus.

By Car: If traveling by car, it is only a 3-minute drive

The cost of the accommodation is from 99 GBP per week, and it offers a comfortable and secure
environment suitable for students. Additionally, it provides easy access to local amenities,
making it an ideal place for me to stay while focusing on my studies.

How will you fund your studies?

I have secured financial support from my family, who will cover my tuition fees and living
expenses in the UK. My father is financially stable and committed to funding my education.
Additionally, I am exploring potential scholarships and part-time work opportunities allowed
under my student visa to support my expenses while studying.

Do you intend to work part-time in the UK while studying? If yes, please explain your reasons

No, I will not work while I am at university because I have sufficient funds to cover my expenses.
