A. Introduction Ask:
1. What is your favorite sweets?
2. What makes a sweet candy very appealing?
3. Is the wrapper of candies has great affects in its
appeal?
Today we will be engaged to an activity that involves
wrappers, from the last lesson we had, we discussed arts
and crafts of Bulacan and Bulacan is known for their art
of making the pabalat or pastillas.
The art of making the pabalat or pastillas wrappers has
transformed in recent years from being local, folk
tradition into a popular art. Besides adding flair to the
sweet pastillas de leche made from carabao’s milk, the
pabalat has also become a compelling icon/symbol of the
people’s creativity, not only of the town of San Miguel
Bulacan but the entire province of Bulacan.
B. Development -Have a brief discussion of the elements of design as their
pre knowledge needed to create a beautiful pattern of
pabalat.
-Let the students be reminded of the Dos and Dont’s and
CLAY GO after the activity.
- Show them samples of pabalat for model output
- Discuss and demonstrate the steps in page 156 of their
LM
- Explain the rubrics of the activity in page 156-157 of
their LM
C. Engagement
- Let the student perform the pabalat making as their
paper cutting activity.
- supervise student’s work and assist students who can’t
follow

- Ask 3 volunteers to give their experiences about the
activity.
