Four Major Function

The document outlines the four major functions of automotive air conditioning: cooling, circulating, purifying, and dehumidifying the air within the vehicle. It also describes various switch functions for climate control, fan operation, defrosting, and airflow direction. These features work together to maintain passenger comfort by regulating temperature and humidity inside the car.

Four Major Function

The goal of automotive air conditioning, like all air conditioning systems, is to control the
temperature and humidity of the ambient air and circulate it within the vehicle. A refrigeration
system, an air circulation and distribution system, and a control system make up the vehicle air
conditioning system. The refrigeration system cools the air and contains a compressor,
condenser, and other components. The air circulation system, which comprises a blower, air
duct, and other components, circulates this cooled air inside the automobile. The temperature of
the automobile is controlled by the regulating system, which senses the temperature and controls
the refrigerating system.

The car air conditioner must regulate four (4) conditions within the vehicle interior to be
effective:

[Link] must cool the air:

-The basic goal of air conditioning is to generate a pleasant room atmosphere for people.
[Link] must circulate the air

- It helps your car get as cool as possible when you have the A/C [Link] recirculates the
cold air you get when you initially switch on the air conditioner. The longer you leave it on, the
cooler your automobile becomes, until it's as cold as it can be.

It must purify the air

-During their everyday trips, particle levels inside and outside of automobiles were
compared. According to the researchers, merely turning on the air conditioner in your car can
help keep the air inside 20–34 percent cleaner.
It must dehumidify the air

-The incoming air stream is cooled by the air conditioner, causing humidity to condense
on the cold evaporator coils.

If passenger comfort is to be maintained while the ambient temperature rises, certain functions
are required. The temperature and humidity are both quite high. The air conditioner preserves the
body's comfort by fulfilling these activities. passengers

Car Air Conditioner Switch Function

1. Climate Control

• Climate control in a car allows you to set the desired temperature of the cabin, using extra
sensors and a computer to allow more precise management of the cabin temperature.
2. Fan

• The fan symbol indicates the power that air will be blown through the car’s vents. Where there
are two icons, one just an outline and one that is filled in, the filled in symbol indicates a
higher strength.

3. Front Windshield Defrost

• The symbol consisting of wavy lines intersecting an upside down curved trapezoid (to
represent the front windscreen) is the windscreen defrost function. Activating this will trigger
the vents at the base of the windshield to expel hot air, gradually warming the glass and
eliminating condensation and frost to defog your cars windscreen.

4. Rear Window Defrost

• The button showing wavy lines intersecting a rectangle, activates rear window defrost
functionality.

5. Upper Airflow

• Pressing the button showing an arrow pointed at a person’s face will limit the air to blow only
through the vents located on the dashboard at chest-level.

6. Lower Airflow

• The button with an arrow pointed at a person’s feet will only blow air through the vents
located underneath the dashboard and underneath the seats to the back-row passengers.

7. Recirculation
Do you see that button on your dashboard with the image of a car and a curved arrow? Want to
get your car as cool as possible? You’ll want to use this button, the recirculation button. It
recycles the cold air generated from the air conditioning system, instead of pulling the warmer
air from outside into the car. When used correctly, using the recirculation button can help save
on fuel consumption.
8. External Air Intake

• If the arrow is entering the car from the outside, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning
system will draw in air from outside the vehicle. If you don’t see this icon, your car will do
this automatically when the air recirculation button is off.
