Acorn Bag Crochet Pattern
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Materials Required:
❖ Crochet Hook (G-7) 4.5mm
❖ Crochet Hook (I-9) 5.5mm
❖ Yarn Needle
❖ Scissors
❖ Stitch Marker
❖ Beige yarn……… Medium #4 (worsted) yarn,
135 - 175 yards (2 - 2.5 oz)
❖ Dark Brown yarn……… Medium #4 (worsted) yarn,
135 - 175 yards (2 - 2.5 oz)
❖ Any yarn and color can be used for the Oak
Leaves, each leaf takes approximately 11 yards
(0.14 oz) if using #4 yarn. Different size yarns will
make a different size leaf.

Notes:
❖ The yarn I used and that’s pictured is “Bernat super value” acrylic yarn in colors “heather
brown” & “dark heather” for the acorn.
❖ This pattern was written for both the top and bottom of the acorn to be made with the
same size (thickness) yarn. If the yarn or hook size is dramatically different than the
pattern indicates - the acorn top will not fit to the bottom as intended. Of course the
acorn can be made with different yarn than the pattern, as long as the top and bottom
are made with the same size yarn.
❖ The yarn amounts stated for this pattern only apply of you’re using the same size yarn as
the pattern. The weight and amount of yarn necessary varies if you use different size
yarn or hook and also depending on your tension. Adjust your hook size for different yarn.

For the parts of the pattern worked in the round with SC: Crochet in continuous
rounds, (without a slip stitch + chain at the beginning of each round), simply end each
round with Single crochet (or whatever stitch is indicated for the pattern) and move
the stitch marker up and continue. The pattern will state when a SL ST+CH is
necessary.

Strap: 4.5mm hook, dark brown yarn
