Construction

Step 1 - Print out the pattern piece and tape it together.

Cut out your desired fabric, make sure you have prewashed
your fabric to prevent shrinkage.

Step 2 - With right sides together, place one front and two back on
tops on top of each other and sew the shoulder seam using a 1cm or
3/8” seam allowance. Repeat for the other front and back top as this
will act as a lining.

Press the shoulder seams.

Step 3 - Open one top in front of you with the right sides facing up.

Then place the lining piece directly on top of this with the wrong side
facing up (this will mean both right sides are touching). Sew around the
armholes, neckline and hems using a 1cm or 3/8” seam allowance. Do
not sew the side seams. Once done, pull the top to the right side through
the shoulders. Press all the edges to create a crisp finish.
Step 4 - With right sides together, sew the side seams using a 1cm or 3/8”
seam allowance. You will catch all four layers into one seam. Finish seam
with an overlocker or zig-zag stitch.

Step 5 - Try the top on and decide where you want the buttons. The button
placement is marked on the pattern, use this as a guide. On one side sew
button holes and on the other side sew buttons.
