TRIBUTE TO SIR PROFESSOR CHIBIKO IHEANACHO OSUOJI
I find it difficult to write a condolence message on Chibiko because we were
so close. He was very dear to me and we shared many things in common. He was a
cousin, an elementary school classmate for eight years 1944-1951; an intimate and
dependable friend; an Old boy of Methodist College Uzuakoli and a fellow Knight
of John Wesley (KJW) of Methodist church Nigeria.
Chibiko served God and humanity conscientiously while he lived. He
donated generously towards the building of the then Pro-Cathedral of Methodist
church Ihube and provided pews and seats for church worshippers. He hosted
visiting church dignitaries and delegates to Owerri Diocese.
As the Rector of Nekede Polytechnic, Owerri, he was friendly and
accommodating. He displayed a high sense of leadership and school
administration.
Chibiko was one of the foremost members of Old Boys Association of
Methodist College Uzuakoli, Owerri Branch. He took active part in their activities
and programmes and volunteered to host their meetings at various times.
As we mourn the exit of this erudite scholar and great school Administrator,
we should be consoled that he lived a fulfilled life.
Laa n’udo, Chibiko, nwanne m nwoke. May your generous soul rest in peace
in the bosom of the Lord. Amen.
Sir Chief Ogbonnaya Nwafo,
Rtd Permanent Secretary and close relation.
