1. He will make sure that all construction activities would be carried out under approved
CSSP.
2. He will make sure that all workers have proper PPEs and oriented, identifying the
hazards and follow the job risk assessment prior to start the work.
3. The site should be cleared from any obstructions to prevent any accidents, slips,
tripping and fall.
4. He will make sure that in case of chemical contact to body or eyes, a washable
container with clean water shall be always available in the working area.
5. He will check and confirm the construction groups have proper work permits.
6. He will check the physical installation of hard barricades in deep excavation and
have signage at working areas.
7. He will check upon mixing of chemicals has a containment and spill kits.
5. METHODOLOGY
Spray application of Biflex TC on soils as horizontal or vertical barrier and make sure no
untreated gaps are left from spray.
5.1 Dilute Biflex TC using 250ml of Biflex TC in 100 Liters of water to prepare the spray
solution.
5.2 Under Slab-on-grade structures and foundations, and cover with polyethylene
sheets for protection, treat soil before concrete slabs are placed, using the following
application rates;
Apply 5.1L of chemical solution per sq. meter to soil in critical areas under slab,
including entire inside perimeter of foundation walls, along both sides of interior
partition walls, around plumbing pipes, electric conduit penetrating slab and
around interior column footers.
Apply 4.1 L of chemical solution per sq.m as an overall treatment under slab and
attached slab areas where fill is soil or unwashed gravel. Apply 6.1 L of chemical
solution per sq.m to areas where fill is washed gravel or other coarse absorbent
material.
5.3 At grade beams or at hollow masonry foundation treat voids at rate of 2.6liters /
meter, poured directly into the hollow spaces.
5.4 At expansion joints, control joints, and grade areas where slabs will be penetrated,
use solution at a rate of 5 liters / linear meter.
5.5 Under road pavement layers, treat top of fill before the sub base and base course
are placed using a power sprayer as directed by the Company's Representative.
5.6 Apply the chemical solution at the rate recommended by the manufacturer to the
top of the fill layer for the full width of the roadway including shoulder and pavement
areas.
5.7 Where termite nests are located within the road reserve, they shall be removed and
burnt. The excavation shall be treated with the recommended chemical solution as

directed by the manufacturer before the excavation is backfilled with the specified
material and compacted to the required density as specified for the road subgrades.
5.8 Apply extra treatment to structure penetration surfaces such as pipe or ducts, and
soil penetrations such as grounding rods or post.
6. QUALlTY INSPECTION
6.1 OA/QC Inspector and Site engineer shall coordinate and verify site condition,
remove foreign matter that could decrease treatment effectiveness on areas to be
treated. Loosen rake and level soil to be treated, except previously compacted
areas under slabs, foundation and road pavement foundation. Apply Biflex TC
before placing of road pavement layer works
6.2 Verify that soil surfaces are unfrozen, sufficiently dry to absorb Biflex TC, and ready
to receive treatment.
6.3 Verify final grading is complete prior to soil treatment.
6.4 The Inspector should have the material approval, ITP, Inspection Checklist and key
drawing plan.
7. PRECAUTION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTION
7.1 Protection and Storage:
i. Handle chemicals in such a manner as to avoid contamination of the site.
ii. Store and protect chemical for termite treatment as follows:
Construct on the site, a shaded, lockable temporary holding area for storage of
the chemicals and any equipment to be used in their mixing and application.
Remove this facility when work is completed.
Place warning signs on the chemical storage area warning workers that
poisonous materials with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are stored therein.
Do not store any materials within this storage area which are not directly used in
the chemical treatment process.
The personnel for the chemical treatment subcontractor and the Contractor's
safety officer shall be the only individuals authorized to have access to the
chemical storage area
7.2 Labeling:
AII chemicals used shall be identified with individual labels securely attached to
each container.
7.3 Shipment and Delivery:

AII chemical concentrates shall be delivered to the job site in sealed drums or sealed cans.
7.4 First Aid Measures:
1. Eye: Flush eyes with for at least 15 minutes. Lift the upper and lower eyelids
intermittently. See an ophthalmologist.
2. Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash with soap and water. If irritation
persists, see a physician.
3. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person. Contact a medical doctor.
4. Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing administer artificial
respiration. Avoid unprotected mouth to mouth resuscitation. GET MEDICAL
ATTENTION.
5. Note to Physician: Remove of exposure and symptomatic and supportive
treatment is recommended. Gastric lavage with an endotracheal tube in place
should be considered as aromatic hydrocarbons in this formation may produce a
fatal pneumonitis if aspirated.
8. PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK
1. Vapor barrier to be placed over the treated soil immediately following treatment.
2. There is to be a minimum of disturbance of the soil after treatment, since undue
disturbance could compromise the integrity of the chemical barrier.
9. SPECIALlZING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS
Wearing proper Personnel Protection:
Work Clothing
Eye Protection
Respiratory Protection
Gloves
Personal Hygiene
Eye wash container
Sprayer and the container
Drum or Container
