JUDGMENT
The Plaintiff brought suit for defamation against the defendant praying for general damages for
defamation, punitive damages for libel and the cost of the suit. The court after considering the
pleadings and submission by the parties delivered a judgment in favour of the Plaintiff. The Court
awarded the Plaintiff Kshs. 2 million for general damages, Kshs. 1.5 million for Punitive damages
and Kshs. 1. 5 million for Exemplary damages.

DECREE
CLAIM FOR:-

(a) General damages for defamation


(b) Punitive and aggravated or exemplary damages for libel
(c) Costs of this suit.

THIS MATTER coming up before the Honourable J. Ole Matope for judgement on 31st /3/2016 in
the presence of Mr. Mafisi for the Plaintiff and Mrs. Juma for the Defendant.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:-


Judgement be and is hereby entered for the Plaintiff and against the Defendant Kshs. 5,000,000, as
general damages, exemplary damages, punitive damages. The Plaintiff was also awarded the cost of
the suit.
THAT the Defendant do pay to the Plaintiff the sum of Kshs. 5,000,000.
