Basic knitted slippers

Materials

- 50 gm of Fingering wight yarn (I used Alize angora gold


for the pink one and Alize diva for the orange one).

- 100 cm long circular needles size 1.5 Us (2.5mm) or size


needed to obtain gauge (28 stitches and 44 rows = 10 cm).

- Marker and tapestry needle.


Abbreviations

K = knit.
P = purl.
Sl1 = slip 1 stitch.
K2tog = Knit next 2 Sts together as one.
P2tog = Purl next 2 Sts together as one.
SSK = Slip next 2 Sts one by one knitwise then place tip
of left hand needle through the fronts of both Sts and knit
them together.
St = stitch.
Sts = stitches.

The slippers are in 3 sizes for women (small,medium,large).

Start with Casting on (64,68,74) sts and join to work in


round with magic loop, and Work 4 rows of 1*1 ribbing .

The heel flap

- Knit (24,24,28) sts and turn the work.


- Purl (24,24,28)sts .
repeat these tow rows 10,11,12 more times , total of
(22,24,26) rows for the heel flap.
Turning the heel

For both of the small and the medium sizes :


- k14, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p6, P2tog , p1, turn.
- Sl1, k7, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p8, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k9, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p10, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k11, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p12, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k13, k2tog, turn.
- Sl1, p12, P2tog, turn.
(14 sts remain on the needles)

For the large size :


- k18, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p9, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k10, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p11, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k12, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p13, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k14, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p15, P2tog, p1, turn.
- Sl1, k16, k2tog, k1, turn.
- Sl1, p16, P2tog, turn.
(18 sts remain on the needles)

knit (7,7,9) more stitches.


re-set your magic loop
to be like the shown in
the next picture .
remember that your
beginning of the row
will be just in the
middle of the heel.

Now work one row in round as follow :


- k (7,7,9), pick up (12,13,14) sts, k (40,44,46), pick up
(12,13,14) sts, k (7,7,9).

and you'll end up like the shown below

Note: you should pick up 1 stitch from every 2 stitches in


the sides of the heel flap, next row knit these picked stitches
twisted so it will not leave holes.
Decreasing part

Work front and back as follow


K (18,19,22), ssk, turn.
- p (37,39,45), P2tog, turn.
- K (37,39,45), ssk, turn.
Repeat these 2 rows until there is (54,56,64) sts remaining
on the needles, ending at the beginning of the row.

and you will decreasing the last time in the round


- k (18,19,22), k2tog, k (14,14,16), k2tog, k (18,19,22).

Now you have (52,54,62)


stitches remaining.

Put a marker on the last row you just worked and keep
knitting in round with stockinette stitch for (8.5,9,9) cm
from the marker or until you get 3/4 long from the full
length of the foot.
Toe decrease

- k (10,11,13), k2tog, k2, ssk, k (20,21,25), k2tog, k2, ssk,


k ( 10,10,12).
- knit all.
- k (9,10,12), k2tog, k2, ssk, k (18,19,23), k2tog, k2, ssk,
k (9,9,11).
- knit all.
- k (8,9,11), k2tog, k2, ssk, k (16,17,21), k2tog, k2, ssk,
k (8,8,10).
- knit all.

Continue decreasing that way until you have (24,26,26)


stitches remaining on the needles .

knit (6,7,7) more stitches and cut the yarn leaving a long tail
to bind of with it using kitchener stitch. then weave in the
ends and that's it!
