3. MAJOR TYPOLOGICAL INSTRUCTION WITH REGARD TO MAIN TEXT
The students are required to adhere to the following instructions:
5.1. Printing should be done on one side of A-4 size executive bond paper.
5.2. The left side margin should not be less than 1.5 inches, the right, top and bottom margins
should be 1 inch each.
5.3. The text of the project should be double spaced; quotations and foot notes should be in
single space.
5.4. Times New Roman Font is to be followed throughout the report. Chapter headings should
be capitalized and centered (14 Font size). Section heading & subdivision headings
should be typed on the left-hand side of the page in title case, E.g., Foreign Direct
Investment (13 Font size)
5.5. Tables, graphs and diagrams should have their respective numbers, titles / headings and

5.6. All pages in main text except prefatory items should carry Arabic numerals placed at the
bottom and centered. As already mentioned, Title page, Acknowledgement, Table of
contents etc. should be numbered in lower case Roman numerals.
5.7. Numbering of chapters, divisions and sub-divisions should be done, using Arabic
numerals only. (E.g., sub-division 4 under division 5 of chapter 3 should be numbered as
3.5.4.). In chapter three – Results analysis and discussion chapter, let us say there are 3
frequency tests, 2 Anova tests, 2 correlation tests and 2 regression tests. Then Frequency

Regression will have the numbering 3.4. Within frequency tests, the three frequency tests

For example, the number of the first table in Chapter Three should be assigned as 3.1.
Table and Figures should be centered. Tables and figures should be continuously numbered
within the chapter. Suppose there are 3 frequency tables and 2 anova tables, the second
Anova table is the fifth table, so it should be numbered as 3.5
5.9. Citations on the main text should carry the author(s)’ surname with year, e.g. Gupta
(2009) or (Gupta, 2009) as the case requires.
5.10. Endnotes should be numbered consecutively throughout the entire report if that

methodology is adopted.
5.11. The list of references for the citations must follow APA style and should contain all
relevant information, viz., authors’ name, the title of the publication, year of publication,
publishers, place of publication and page number. (Appendix 11).
5.12. Students are required to preserve the valued manuscripts (initial drafts) as the same has to
be produced during the Viva-Voce Examination if asked.
4. PLAGIARISM
Any attempt to copy from another (Present or Previous) student or to copy large chunks from
academic or other sources without appropriate referencing those sources will trigger the full
weight of plagiarism procedures. University / College will initiate stern action if plagiarism is
detected. An originality report from the software suggested by the School has to be attached.
(Appendix 6).
All the material that relates to the project report including completed questionnaires or
recordings of interviews, should be shown to the guide and preserved by the students until the
College has declared the results. Students are advised not to dispose the material after the

Internship Report Format
a. Introduction
Brief introduction about the company where the internship was done. The inception, type of
entity (Proprietor/partnership/LLP/Pvt Ltd/Public Ltd), the ownership structure, registered
office, brief background about the company’s history, milestones, achievements etc.
b. 3C Report
The 3C report comprises of an in-depth analysis of the Company, Competition and the
Context. The following tools are do be used for analysis and preparing the 3C report.
1. The Company
The student is expected to understand the company as a whole by going through various
departments of the company. In addition, the student should also understand the position of the
company vis-à-vis the industry in which the company is operating.
In trying to understand the company, the following aspects may be studied:
This framework strips a business model to its bare bones, improving clarity and focusing on the most
important factors. A business model canvas is a single analysis that’s divided up into nine elements:
2. The Competition
A student is also expected to understand the competitors for the products marketed by the company.
SWOC Analysis The student is expected to study the economic environment in which the
company is operating, understand its progress in the past and based on the same, analyze the
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the company. The SWOC analysis should
provide insights into the company’s future prospects and the strategic direction.
3. Climate (or Context) - The external environment, often referred to as the business climate
or context, encompasses various factors that are beyond the organization’s control.
PESTLE Analysis - A PESTLE analysis is a strategic framework commonly used to
evaluate the business environment in which a firm operates. It analyses favorability or
unfavourability of the Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal and
Environmental factors that influence an organization.
c. Learning Experience
The practical learnings derived during the 3-month internship shall be narrated in this section.
During my three-month internship at Jindal Steels, I worked under the Marketing Division,
focusing on a comprehensive dealer satisfaction survey while gaining an in-depth understanding
of the steel manufacturing process, supply chain, and distribution network. My responsibilities
included designing and distributing questionnaires, analyzing dealer feedback, and identifying
areas for service improvement. Additionally, I observed and learned the entire steel production
process, from raw material processing to finished product creation, and studied the intricacies of
supply chain management and distribution networks. This multifaceted experience provided me
with valuable insights into both marketing strategies and operational efficiencies within the steel
industry.
Over a three-month project titled "Antecedents of Dealership Satisfaction for Hot Rolled Steel
Products,", I conducted casual research using the primary data collected through a well-
structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was tested using a pilot study and was also vetted by
the officials in the marketing department at Jindal Steels. The study was conducted among 200
dealers in Maharashtra with the main objective to develop a scale for measuring dealership
satisfaction. The research identified six major factors influencing dealership satisfaction and
tested the scale using confirmatory factor analysis on the collected data. The developed scale,
which was highly appreciated by the management, offers a robust tool for assessing and
enhancing dealer relationships and satisfaction within the industry.
