Math 10 Lesson 3.3 Geometric Means

The document explains geometric means as terms between two given terms in a geometric sequence, providing examples and formulas for finding mean proportions. It includes examples for calculating mean proportion and writing recursive and explicit formulas for geometric sequences. Additionally, it presents real-life problems to illustrate the application of these concepts.

GEOMETRIC MEANS

Geometric means are the

terms between any two given
terms of a geometric sequence.
6, 12, 24, 48, 96
The terms between 6 and 96
are the geometric means.
MEAN PROPORTION
A term between any two given
terms of a geometric sequence is
called a geometric mean or more
specifically, mean proportion.
