Assignment Guidelines

I. The vacation assignment must be completed in a new exercise book•


2. Each section of the assignment should begin on a fresh page•
3. Marks will be awarded for clarity of expression and the orderly presentation of material.
4. Submission Date: Upon resumption of school

Section 10 of the Learner Material

l. Read the test on page 6 captioned: Persuasive Writing. Indicate three ways in which
persuasive writing is different from other forms of writing.

2. Read the test under activity 10.2 on page 7 and identify four features of a debate,
Section 11

3. Read pages 6 to 8 and complete exercises 5 to 10 on page 10 (the simple past tense).

4. Read the text on page 10, under Review Questions, and identify the main idea in each
paragraph.

Section 12

5. Read the text under activity 12.2 on pages 8 and 9 and identify the following in each
paragraph:

a) topic sentence

b) major supporting sentence(s)

c) minor supporting sentence(s)

d) concluding sentences

6. Read on conjunctions (pages 3 to 6). Refer to the table in question 4, under Review
Questions.
Connect the phrases and clauses with the appropriate conjunctions to form four complete
sentences.

The new policy has been implemented to improve customer satisfaction. It aims to reduce waiting times and enhance overall service quality. Our team
has organised extensive training to ensure a peaceful handing over. We are convinced that these changes will have a positive impact on our customers'
