Page Setup in Microsoft Word
Steps for Page Setup:
1. Open Microsoft Word
Start a new or existing document.
2. Go to the “Layout” (or “Page Layout”) tab
Located on the ribbon at the top.
3. Set the Margins
o Click Margins.
o Choose a preset or click Custom Margins....
4. Set the Page Orientation
o Click Orientation.
o Choose Portrait or Landscape.
5. Set the Paper Size
o Click Size.
o Choose from standard paper sizes (e.g., A4, Letter, Legal).
6. (Optional) Set Columns
o Click Columns.
o Choose the number of columns (1, 2, 3, etc.).
7. Open Advanced Page Setup
o Click the dialog box launcher (small arrow in the corner of the Page Setup
group).
o Adjust advanced settings under Margins, Paper, and Layout tabs.
8. Click “OK”
o Apply the changes to the document.

Print Preview in Microsoft Word
Print Preview allows you to see how your document will look when printed — including
layout, margins, page breaks, and more — before actually printing it.
Steps to Use Print Preview in Word:
1. Open Your Document
o Launch Microsoft Word and open the document you want to preview.
2. Go to the “File” Tab
o Click on File in the top-left corner of the ribbon.
3. Click on “Print”
o This will open the Print Preview screen automatically.
o You’ll see a side-by-side view:
▪ Left side: Preview of your document.
▪ Right side: Print settings.
4. Use the Preview Tools
o Use the arrow buttons or scrollbar to scroll through multiple pages.
o Zoom in/out to view the document layout more closely.
5. Adjust Print Settings (if needed)
o Choose printer
o Number of copies
o Page range (e.g., 1–5, All)
o Orientation, margins, and paper size
6. Print or Return
o Click Print to proceed.
o Or click Back (or press Esc) to return to your document without printing.
