Double Duo beads

Simple cylinder­shaped beaded beads with Superduos and Miniduos

Material :

Matubo Miniduo
Matubo Superduo

Difficulty: beginner / intermediate

Technique: odd count peyote stitch

1) Use a bead stopper to secure the end of the thread. 6) Add one Superduo and
String one Superduo, one Miniduo, one Superduo, one pass through the unused
Miniduo ... total seven beads (four Superduos and three hole of the nearest Miniduo.
Miniduos).

7) Repeat step 6 two more times.

2) Pass back through the


unused hole of the last
Superduo.

Here comes the tricky part ... we still need to add the last
Superduo to this row, but we have nowhere to attach it ...
3) Add one Miniduo and As you might know, "step­up" in odd count peyote stitch is
then pass through the always a little bit tricky, especially when using two­hole
unused hole of the next beads. So here is one way to do it ...
Superduo.

8) Add one Superduo. Then

row. Pull snug.

4) Repeat step 3 two more times.

10) Then pass back through 14) Add two more rows (by

left side. Keep your tension
as tight as possible.

12) Now add one Superduo


and pass through the
unused hole of the last
Miniduo. Repeat until you 16) Pass through the

The bead on the left was made exactly as shown in this


tutorial. The bead on the right is a little bit larger ­ I simply
made two more rows before I joined the ends together.
