Unique Malaysia
Malaysia is a unique country. There are lots of celebrations to celebrate
as it is a multicultural country. Thaipusam is celebrated by Indians.
The devotees will pierce parts of their body, cheeks and tongue. They
use a pole to carry things called Kavadi on their backs.
Next is Wesak Day which is celebrated by Buddhists. It normally
falls on Sunday. It marks the birth and death of Gautama Buddha.
Monks are usually dressed in Saffron robes. They meditate and chant
while burning incense and making prayers during a procession.
Finally, the Kaamatan Harvest Festival is held in Sabah. It is the
most important cultural event which takes place annually in May. It
is an ancient celebration made in honour of a successful harvest by
the ethnic Kadazan Dusun people.
