Pancake day Activities

 First of all, we will divide the class in three groups and each group will be assigned a
task related to this day.

First group: Historical and cultural origins

 Historical origins
 Cultural origins
 Represents a small theater of how this day came about

Information provided in class:

Pancake day is a festival of religious origin held in the United Kingdom on Carnival
Tuesday. Traditionally, as it was the last day before Lent, all those high-fat foods should be
consumed at home that were forbidden during fasting. It is believed that this tradition
originates from the 15th century. When a British housewife busy making her pancakes lost
notion of time and when she heard the church chimes he ran out arriving with his frying
pan and pancake in his hand.
